Size: Medium

REQUIREMENTS:
YARN: 2-ounces of Beige Sport Yarn; ½-ounce each of Red and Yellow Sport Yarn
NEEDLES: 1 pr. #2 single pointed

GAUGE: 8 sts to an inch. 11 rows to an inch.

   RIGHT GLOVE: Using the Beige yarn cast on 56 sts and work in ribbing of k 2, p 2 for 3 inches. 1st background: Knit 6 sts, knit 2 sts together; place the next 14 sts onto a thread; the last 34 sts onto another thread. Working on the sts that are on the needle, turn; slip 1 st, purl to end of row; turn; knit 5 sts, knit 2 sts together. Turn; slip first st, purl to end of row. Continue to decrease 1 stitch at end of each knit row until all sts are decreased. Break yarn.
   2ND ½-BACKGROUND DIAMOND: Place the 14 sts off thread onto the needle. Tie yarn at the beginning of a knit row. Next row: Knit 2 sts together, k 10, knit 2 sts together. Turn, slip first st, purl to end. Decrease 1 stitch at the beginning and end of each knit row until all sts are decreased. Break yarn.
   END BACKGROUND: Place the remaining 34 sts from thread onto the needle. Tie beige yarn at the beginning of a knit row. NEXT ROW: Knit 2 sts together; knit to end of row. 2nd row: Purl across row. Repeat these last 2 rows 5 times more, (28 sts remaining); ending with a purl row. Break yarn. Place these sts onto a thread.
   1ST DIAMOND: With the right side of the work facing you, tie red yarn in first decreased space between tan points. Pick up and knit 2 sts in same place. Turn; slip 1 st, p 1, pick up and purl 1 st on corresponding row of beige, (inserting needle from right side of work towards the wrong side through the 2 loops between each knot made by the decreases). Turn; slip first st, knit to end, pick up and knit 1 stitch on corresponding row of beige. Repeat these last 2 rows, picking up 1 st at end of each row until there are 14 sts on the needle. Ending with a knit row. Turn, slip first st, purl to end. Decreases: Knit 2 sts together, knit across to within last 2 sts, knit 2 sts together. 2nd row: Slip first st, purl to end. Repeat these last 2 rows until all sts are decreased. Break yarn.
   2ND DIAMOND: Tie yellow yarn in next decreased space and work a diamond as before.
   BACKGROUND: Tie beige yarn at end of tan point and widest part of red diamond. With the right side of work facing you, pick up 1 stitch in same place and 1 stitch on corresponding row of red. Turn, slip first st, p to end. Pick up 1 stitch at end of each knit row until 8 sts are on the needle, ending with a knit row. Break yarn. Place these sts onto a thread. Tie beige yarn in space between red and yellow diamonds and work as colored diamond until there are 14 sts on the needle. Break yarn. Place these sts onto a thread. Take the 28 sts from thread and place onto the needle. Tie beige yarn at the end of the purl row. Pick up 1 stitch on corresponding row of yellow at the end of each purl row until there are 34 sts on the needle, ending with a purl row. With the same needle; purl the 14 sts off the thread and the last 8 sts. Knit across next row. THUMB OPENING: Purl 16 sts; place these sts onto a thread; purl the next 10 sts and leave on the needle; place the remaining sts onto a 2nd thread. Cast on 5 sts onto the needle; knit these 15 sts; cast on 5 sts, new working on these 20 sts in stockinette stitch for the thumb until the piece measures 2¼-inches in all, ending with a purl row. Knit 2 sts together across next row. Thread a darning needle and draw through remaining sts. Fasten on the wrong side. Sew up thumb. Place the 30 sts off 2nd thread onto the needle, tie yarn in, knit across these sts; pick up and knit 10 sts at base of thumb; knit 16 sts off thread. Work in stockinette stitch for 2¼-inches, ending with a purl row.
   1ST FINGER: Knit 20 sts, place these sts onto a thread; knit the next 17 sts and leave on the needle; place the remaining 19 sts onto a thread. Purl across the 17 sts that are on the needle, cast on 2 sts. Now work in stockinette stitch for 3 inches, ending with a purl row. Finish off as thumb.
   2ND FINGER: With the right side of the work facing you, take 7 sts from first thread, (those nearest the first finger) onto a needle. Tie yarn in, cast on 3 sts, knit these 10 sts; pick up and knit 3 sts at the base of first finger; knit 7 sts off 2nd thread. On these 20 sts work in stockinette stitch for 3¼-inches, ending with a purl row. Finish off as first finger.
   3RD FINGER: Take 6 sts from first thread and place onto the needle. Tie yarn in, cast on 3 sts, knit these 9 sts; pick up and knit 3 sts at base of 2nd finger; knit 6 sts from 2nd thread. On these 18 sts, work in stockinette stitch for 3 inches, ending with a purl row. Finish as other fingers.
   LITTLE FINGER: Place the sts from first thread onto the needle. Tie yarn in and knit these 7 sts; pick up and knit 3 sts at base of 3rd finger; knit 6 sts from 2nd thread. Work in stockinette stitch for 2¼-inches, ending with a purl row. Finish as other fingers, continuing to sew down along side.
   LEFT GLOVE: Make cuff as on the right glove. Next Row: Knit 32 sts, knit 2 sts together. Place the next 14 sts onto a thread and the last 8 sts onto a 2nd thread. Work to correspond to the right glove. THUMB OPENING: Purl 30 sts, place onto a thread, purl the next 10 sts and leave on the needle; place the remaining sts onto a 2nd thread. Work remainder of thumb and glove as on right one, until you come to the first finger. 1st FINGER: K 19 sts, place these sts onto a thread; knit the next 17 sts, cast on 2 sts onto the needle; place the remaining sts onto a thread. Finish this finger and the remainder of the fingers to correspond to right glove.
