1 Pr. Standard No. 4 Needles
1 Pr. Standard No. 7 Needles
Double pointed Needle
Scale: 6½ sts to 1 in.
Jack Frost Sport Yarn—4 2-oz. Balls

BACK: With No. 4 Needles cast on 100 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 3½ in. Change to No. 7 Needles and P 1 row increasing to 123 sts at even intervals across row. Work in pattern as follows:
Row 1—P 3, * K 3, P 3; repeat from * across row.
Row 2—K 3, * P 3, K 3; repeat from * across row.
Repeat above 2 rows working a cable twist row every 3 in. to neck edge as follows: P 3, * slip next 6 sts to double pointed Needle (D P N), hold in back of work, K next 3 sts, then bring the 6 slipped sts forward and slip the 3 P sts from D P N to left hand Needle and P them, then K the 3 remaining sts from D P N; P 3, K 3, P 3; repeat from * across row ending P 3. Continue pattern until piece measures 12 in. from lower edge. Bind off 6 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for under­arm; then 3 sts at beginning of each of next 8 rows. Work even until piece measures 10 in. from first bound off sts at underarm. Bind off 9 sts at beginning of each of next 6 rows for shoulders. Change to No. 4 Needles increasing to 35 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 7 rows. Bind off.

FRONT: Work same as given for back until piece measures 6½ in. from first bound off sts at underarm. Work over 34 sts; place on st.-holder. Bind off next 19 sts for front of neck. On remaining 34 sts, work 2 rows even; decrease 1 st at neck edge every other row 7 times. Work even until piece measures 10 in. from first bound off sts at underarm. Starting at shoul­der edge, bind off 9 sts every other row 3 times. Work other side to correspond.

FRONT NECKBAND: With No. 4 Needles on right side of garment, pick up 77 sts from shoulder to shoulder. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 7 rows. Bind off.
Sew shoulder seams.

ARMHOLE BANDS: With No. 4 Needles on right side of gar­ment, pick up 141 sts from end to end of armhole. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 7 rows. Bind off.
Sew underarm seams.
