Knitting Patterns
Cable stripe cast on 48 sts.
1st Row. K 3, P 3, K 3, P 8, K 3, P 8, K 3, P 8, K 3, P 3, K 3.
2nd Row. Right side of work--P 3, K 3, P 3, K 8, P 3, K 8, P 3, K 8, P 3, K 3, P 3.
Repeat 1st and 2nd rows 3 times, then repeat 1st row once more. (More)
Center Stripe--With Flame, cast on 67 sts and K 1 row.
1st Row of Pattern--Purl across row. Purl every uneven row.
2nd Row. P 2, * o. (Over: yarn over needle.) K 4, sl 1 st, n. (Narrow: K 2 together.) Pass sl st over last st, K 4, o, P 2, repeat from * to end of row. (More)
MOTIF. Cast on one st and K 2 sts into it.
2nd Row. K 1, K 2 in the next st.
3rd Row. K 2, K 2 in next st. Continue knitting increasing 1 st in last st until there are 23 sts on needle.

With Black, ch 3 and work 7 sc in first st of ch, join in ch.
The chain at beginning of row counts as 1 sc.
2nd Row. Ch 4, sc in same space (corner), 1 sc in next sc, 1 sc, ch 3, 1 sc in next sc (2nd corner), 1 sc in next sc, 1 sc, ch 3, 1 sc in next sc (3rd corner), 1 sc in next sc, 1 sc, ch 3, 1 sc in next sc (4th corner), 1 sc in last st, join in 1st corner loop. (More)
Afghan St. Ch for desired length, pick up each st of ch leaving all loops on needle, work back by drawing yarn through first loop, * yarn over needle and draw through 2 loops, repeat from * to end of row.
2nd Row: Same as 1st row picking up the vertical yarn instead of ch, then work back in same manner.

NARROW STRIPE. With Blue, ch 32, work 31 Afghan sts on ch. Continue working in Afghan st until there are 100 rows, break yarn. Attach Black and work 100 rows in Black, sl st across row, break yarn.
2nd Stripe. With Black, ch 32, work 31 Afghan sts on ch, work even for 100 rows, break yarn.

With Green, ch 5, join to form a ring and work 8 puff sts with ch 2 between each puff st in ring. (Puff st: yarn over needle, insert in ring and pull loop up the same length, repeat from *, yarn over and pull through all loops on needle but one, yarn over and pull through 2 loops), break yarn.

2nd Row. Dc in same place, skip 2 sc, sc in next sc, * ch 2, dc in same space, skip 2 sc, sc in next sc, repeat from * across row, ch 2, turn.

With Dark Green, ch 67 and work 66 Afghan stitches on ch. Work in Afghan sts for 239 rows, finish with a row of sl sts, break yarn. Work another stripe in same manner. Embroider design as illustrated according to chart repeating pattern from arrow 3 times ending design with 3 rows of bars and reversing pattern on second stripe. (More)
