MATERIALS REQUIRED:

Columbia-Minerva Nantuk 4 ply Knitting Yarn (Knitting Worsted size-2 or 4 oz skein)-24 ounces of Color 2 and 16 ounces each of Colors 1 and 3
OR
Columbia-Minerva Knitting Worsted (4 oz skein)-6 skeins Color 2 and 4 skeins each of Colors 1 and 3

Knitting Needles: 1 pair "Boye" Size 1 0 Gauge: 4 sts to 1 inch

POINTED STRIPS: (Make 5) - With Color 1 cast on 23 sts. Row 1-Knit. Row 2-Knit. Row 3-K 1, *yo, K 2 tog, repeat from * across row. Row 4-Knit. Join Color 2, break Color 1. Row 5-With Color 2 K 11, yo, K 1, yo, K 11. Row 6-K 2 tog, K to last 2 sts, K 2 tog. Row 7-Knit. Row 8-Knit. Drop Color 2 but do not break, join Color 3. Row 9-With Color 3 K 11, yo, K 1, yo, K 11. Row 10-K 2 tog, K to last 2 sts, K 2 tog. Row 11-Knit. Row 12-Knit. Drop Color 3 but do not break. Repeat Rows 5 through 12 once more, then repeat Rows 5 through 8 once. Repeat pat from Row 1 until 17 Color 1 stripes have been completed. Bind off.

STRAIGHT STRIPS: (Make 6) - With Color 1 cast on 241 sts. Row 1-Knit. Row 2-Knit. Row 3-K 1, *yo, K 2 tog, repeat from * across. Row 4-Knit. Join Color 2, break Color 1. *With Color 2 K 4 rows (2 ridges), with Color 3 K 4 rows, repeat from * once more, then K 4 rows with Color 2. With Color 1 repeat Rows 1 through 4. Bind off.

TO JOIN: With Color 1 work 1 row of sl st at ends of straight strips. Sew strips tog on wrong side of work alternating panels.

FRINGE: Wind Color 1 around a 5 inch cardboard. Cut strands at one end. Fold and knot 10 strands in each joining of strips at each end of Afghan and at center of each pointed strip. Fold and knot 10 strands of Color 3 at each end of straight strips at Color 3 stripes.
