Materials Required: AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "DAWN" INFANT'S WOOL, Article W 5.

8-1 oz. Balls, White, Baby Pink or Baby Blue.
1 Pr. each Bone Knitting Needles No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4.
Bone Crochet Hook No. 2.
1½ yds. Narrow Ribbon.
7 Pearl Buttons.

Gauge: 9 sts = 1 inch.

SLEEVES AND YOKE: On No. 1 needles, cast on 60 sts and work in ribbing of K 2, P 2 for 1½ inches. Purl 1 row increasing 10 sts spacing increases evenly. Change to No. 2 needles and work in following pattern.
1st Row. K across row.
2nd Row. Purl across row.
Repeat 1st and 2nd rows.
5th Row. * K 4, P 2, repeat from * across row ending with K 4.
6th Row. * P 4, K 2, repeat from * across row ending with P 4.
Repeat these 6 rows for pattern.
Work until sleeve measures about 10 inches or length desired from the beginning ending with the 6th row of pattern.
Next 2 rows. Cast on 6 sts at the beginning of each row and continue in pattern for about 2½ inches working an added pattern on the 6 cast on sts and ending with the 6th row of pattern.
Next Row. Work across 1st 39 sts and place remaining 43 sts on a st holder. Continue work on front of yoke for about 2½ inches binding off on the 3rd row of pattern.
Pick up sts from st holder, attach yarn, bind off 4 sts for neck and work back in pattern, for 5 inches ending with 6th row of pattern at neck edge, break yarn leaving sts on needle. On the free needle, cast on 39 sts and begin­ning with the 4th row of pattern work same as other front for 2½ inches ending at lower edge of yoke with the 6th row of pattern.
Next Row. K across row, cast on 4 sts for neck and K across sts on other needle. Continue pattern across all sts for about 2½ inches ending with the 2nd row of pattern.
Next 2 Rows. Bind off 6 sts at the beginning of each row and continue in pattern until sleeve measures same as 1st sleeve to ribbing ending with the 3rd row of pattern.
Next Row. Change to No. 1 needles and P across row de­creasing 10 sts spacing decreases evenly, then finish sleeve with ribbing of K 2, P 2 for 1½ inches.

SKIRT: With right side of work toward you, with No. 4 needles pick up 32 sts across one front, 66 sts across back, 32 sts across other front. K 1 row.
Next Row. K 1, * Y O, K 2 together, repeat from * across row ending row with Y O, K 1.
Next Row. K 3, P to within the last 3 sts, K 3.
Next Row. K across row increasing in every other st. Re­peat the last 2 rows, then work in stockinette st (K 1 row, P 1 row) until skirt measures 16 inches. Always K the first and last 3 sts at the beginning and end of each row for border.
Next 6 Rows. Work in garter st, (K each row) bind off.
With right side of work toward you, attach yarn at lower left corner of skirt, crochet a row of s c to neck, ch 1, turn and work 1 s c in each s c, ch 3, turn, * skip 2 s c, 1 s c in each of the next 4 s c, ch 3, (buttonhole) repeat from * 5 times, s c in next s c, then work a row of s c around neck drawing it in to measure about 11 inches, then con­tinue a row of s c down right side of yoke and skirt, break yarn.

NECK EDGE: With right side of work toward you, attach yarn in left corner of neck edge, * skip 1 s c, 4 d c with ch 1 between each d c in next s c, skip 1 s c, s c in next s c, repeat from * around neck edge, break yarn. Finish with buttons. Lace ribbon through beading.
