Gauge: 3 sts = 1"; 3 rows = 1"

MATERIALS: 6 Skeins Home-Ties Variegated Kentucky Rug Yarn No. 113 in Main Color (M C) and 3 Skeins in Contrasting Color (C C).

1 Pr. Knitting Needles No. 9, 14"

To Make Rug: Using 2 strands of yarn, cast on 54 stitches with Contrasting Color (CC). * Knit across. Repeat from * for 7 rows; cut yarn, leaving about 3 inches; pick up Main Color (M C) and continue to knit back and forth for 6 rows; cut yarn again, leaving about 3", and again pick up C C and knit back and forth for 6 rows. Change color again to M C and knit back and forth for 45 rows. Continue to knit, 6 rows of C C, 6 rows of M C, and 8 rows of C C. Bind off.

When skein or ball runs out, splice about ½" and sew ends to­gether with thread for 3 or 4 stitches, roll splice between fingers and it will be smooth.
