Materials Required:
5 Skeins FAIRKNIT Topper Glow
Straight Knitting Needles #10
Steel Crochet Hook #00

Gauge: 7 sts—2"
Starting at long end of stole, cast on 150 sts, and P1 row. Work in stockinette st as follows:
Row 1; K 148 sts, turn.
Row 2; Sl 1 st as to p, p 145 sts, turn.
Row 3; Sl 1 st as to p, k 143 sts, turn.
Row 4; Sl 1 st as to p, p 141 sts, turn. Continue working in this manner, working 2 sts less on each row until 2 sts remain, ending with a p row.
Next row; slip 1 st, place 75 sts of right hand needle on a heavy strand of yarn for one short edge. Begin border on other short edge.
Border: Row 1right side—k 1, *inc. 1 st by knitting 1 st in slipped st in previous row, k 2; repeat from * to end (112 sts).
Row 2—k.
Row 3—p, increasing 1 st each side (114 sts).
Row 4—p.
Row 5—k, increasing 1 st each side (116 sts).
Row 6—k.
Row 7—p, increasing 1 st each side (118 sts).
Row 8wrong side—p 5, * k3, p 7, repeat from * 10 times more, place a marker before next st, k to end. Carry up marker.
Row 9—inc. 1 st in first st, p to marker, * holding yarn loosely in front of work, slip next 7 sts as to p, p 3; repeat from * 10 times, holding yarn in front of work, slip 4 sts as to p, inc. 1 st in last st; 120 sts.
Row 10—p 6. * k 3, p 7; repeat from * 10 times, k to end.
Row 11—same as row 9, end slip 5 sts, inc. 1 st in last st (122 sts).
Row 12—same as row 10, beg with p 7 instead of p 6.
Row 13—same as row 9, end slip 6 sts, inc 1 st in last st (124 sts).
Row 14—same as row 10, beg with k 1, p 7.
Row 15—same as row 9, end slip 7, inc 1 st in last st (126 sts).
Row 16—k 2, p 7, finish same as row 10.
Row 17—same as row 9, end slip 7, p 1, inc 1 st in last st (128 sts).
Row 18—k 3, p 7, finish same as row 10.
Row 19—inc 1 st in first st, p to marker, * k 3, insert right hand needle under the 5 loops of slipped rows and into next st on left hand needle, k the loops and st tog., k 3, p 3; repeat from * across, end last repeat p 2, inc 1 st in last st; 130 sts.
Row 20—k.
Row 21—p, increasing 1 st each side (132 sts). P 1 row, k 2 rows. Bind off.
2nd Half of Border: Take up sts from thread, start at center. Begin to knit at outer edge from right side (on right side).
Row 1—* k 2, inc 1 st as before; repeat from *, end k 1; 112 sts. Repeat rows 2 to 7 inclusive, of first half of border; 118 sts.
Row 8wrong side—k 3, place a marker before next st, * p 7, k 3; repeat from * 10 times, p 5.
Row 9—inc 1 st in first st, slip 4 sts as before, * p 3, slip 7; repeat from * to marker, p to within 1 st of end, inc 1 st in last st; 120 sts. Finish 2nd half to correspond to first. Sew seam at center of border. Steam lightly.
Fringe: Cut a 7-inch cardboard. Working from wrong side, hold cardboard in back of work, with loop on hook, insert hook through both loops of first st of bound-off edge, draw up a loop, yarn around cardboard, yo, through 2 loop on hook, * draw up a loop through next st as before, yarn around cardboard, yo, through 2 loops; repeat from * to end of bound-off edge. From right side, work 1 row sc on borders and cast-on edge.
