Materials Required — AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "DAWN" ZEPHYR WOOL or "DAWN" SHETLAND TYPE FLOSS.
2—2 oz. Skeins of Zephyr Wool or 2 Balls Shetland Type Floss.
1 Skein Six Strand Art Thread.
1 Pair Bone Knitting Needles Number 7.
1 Pair Bone Knitting Needles Number 4.
Gauge—6 sts = 1 inch. 5 ribs= 1 inch.

On large needles cast on 40 sts and work 6½ inches in garter st (K each row).
Next row start decreasing.
1st Row. K 9, K 2 together, K 18, K 2 together, K 9.
2nd row and all even rows, K even.
3rd Row. K 8, K 2 together, K 18, K 2 together, K 8.
5th Row. K 8, K 2 together, K 16, K 2 together, K 8.
7th Row. K 7, K 2 together, K 16, K 2 together, K 7.
9th Row. K 7, K 2 together, K 14, K 2 together, K 7.
11th Row. K 6, K 2 together, K 14, K 2 together, K 6.
13th Row. K 6, K 2 together, K 12, K 2 together, K 6.
15th Row. K 5, K 2 together, K 12, K 2 together, K 5.
17th Row. K 5, K 2 together, K 10, K 2 together, K 5.
19th Row. K 4, K 2 together, K 10, K 2 together, K 4.
21st Row. K 4, K 2 together, K 8, K 2 together, K 4.
23rd Row. K 3, K 2 together, K 8, K 2 together, K 3.
25th Row. K 2 together across row, break yarn leaving about 12 inches. Slip the remaining 8 sts on yarn and draw up tight and fasten. Lace seam over instep to within last 18 ridges for top of cuff.
With small needles pick up 26 sts on each side (52 sts). Work in ribbing of K 2, P 2 for 2 inches. Bind off loosely, break yarn leaving an end to seam back of sock. Work other sock to correspond and embroider with Rambler Roses on each side of center rib as illustrated.
