NOTE:— To insure the right length of all mittens: Slip the mitten onto the hand and when mitten comes one-quarter inch above the little finger start the decreases at the tip.

CUFF: Starting at the cuff and using the blue yarn, cast on 29 sts. Work in ribbing of k 1, p 1, for 5 rows. Beading row: * k 2 sts together, yarn over, repeat from * across row, ending with yarn over, k 1. Work in ribbing as before for 5 rows, increasing 8 sts evenly spaced apart on the last row of ribbing (33 sts). Now work in the pattern as follows: (More)


Infants Rosebud Mittens, No. 151

Cuff: Cast on 43 sts and work as follows: ROW 1: Knit 1, purl 1, repeat across row. Make 9 rows more like row 1, (seed stitch pattern). Then knit 1 row, purl 1 row for 6 rows. Beading row: * k 2 tog, yarn over, repeat from * across row ending with yarn over, k 1. Next row: Purl across row. ** Knit 1 row, purl 1 row for 6 rows; make 4 rows of seed stitch; repeat from ** until the mitten measures 4 inches in all. (More)

CUFF: Using the #4 needles cast on 40 sts. ROW 1: * Yarn over, slip 1 st as if to purl, knit 1; repeat from * across row. ROW 2: * Yarn over, slip 1 st as if to purl, k 2 tog; repeat from * across row, ending with k 2 tog. Repeat row 2 for pattern. Work in the pattern until the piece measures 1 ¾ inches.
