CHECK YOUR GAUGE

It is very important to obtain the correct gauge given in instructions. To check your gauge, cast on enough stitches for a 4-inch sample. Knit or crochet about 4 inches. Measure off 2 inches in the center of this sample and mark with pins. Count the stitches between pins. If you have less stitches than required for 2 inches, your work is too loose, try a smaller size needle or hook. If you have more stitches than required for 2 inches, your work is too tight, try a larger size needle or hook. Always cast on loosely for ribbing.

STEAMING

Steam lightly as follows. Lay garment flat on pressing board, pinning to required measurements. Place a damp cloth over garment and steam lightly with a warm (not hot) iron, being careful not to allow weight of iron to rest on the garment. Allow to dry thoroughly.

WASHING INSTRUCTIONS

Do not boil. Wash in mild soap suds. Rinse thoroughly. Pin out as above. Steam lightly. Do not iron. Allow to dry thoroughly.
