"AUNT LYDIA'S" HEAVY RUG YARN
4 - 70 yd. skeins Taupe
1 - 70 yd. skein each Bongo, National Blue and Fern Green
1 Pr. Knitting Needles No. 8 OR ANY SIZE NEEDLES WHICH WILL RESULT IN STITCH GAUGE BELOW
Plastic Crochet Hook Size J
½ yd. lining material
Kapok or shredded foam rubber for filling

GAUGE: 4 sts = 1 inch (Make 2 sections).

With Taupe cast on 62 sts. 1st ROW: K across row. 2nd ROW: K 5, * P 4, K 4, repeat from * across row ending last repeat with K 5. 3rd ROW: P 5, * K 4, P 4, repeat from * across row ending last repeat with P 5. 4th and 5th ROWS: Repeat 2nd and 3rd rows. 6th ROW: Repeat 2nd row. 7th ROW: K across row. 8th ROW: Re­peat 3rd row. 9th to 12th ROWS: Repeat 2nd and 3rd rows twice. Repeat from the 1st to the 12th rows for pattern 4 times, then work 1st to 7th rows, bind off.

EMBROIDERY: With Bongo, National Blue and Fern Green embroider flowers in Lazy Daisy st according to chart.

LINING: Cut lining allowing about ½ inch on each side for seams. Sew 3 sides. Fill with kapok. Sew opening closed.

FINISHING: Sew 3 sides of pillow. Insert lining and sew opening closed. With Taupe ch 156, cut yarn. Sew ch around pillow with back loops of ch facing up and allow­ing 3 chs for each block.

FRINGE: Cut Bongo, National Blue and Fern Green in 4 inch lengths. Take one strand, double in half and loop through back loop of each ch alternating colors at each block, but use same color twice around corner blocks. Trim fringe evenly.
