Pull sts. tog.—Break your yarn and leave about 10 inches. Thread a tapestry needle and pull this needle through the remaining stitches

Knitting Patterns

Mittens

1st and 2nd round: * K 2, P 2 repeat from * around.

3rd and 4th round: * P 2, K 2 repeat from * around.

Cast on 40 sts. with No. 2 needles, join being careful not to twist sts. Work in ribbing K 1, P 1 for 2 ½ inch. Change to No. 4 needles and work in pattern for 1 ¼ inch. (More)


Children's Mittens

Cast on 28 sts. (32 sts. - 36 sts.) with No. 2 needles. Join and work in ribbing K 2, P 2 for 2 (2 ½) inch. Change to plain K and work even for ¾ (1) inch. Slip next 4 (5-6) sts. to a safety pin and cast on 4 (5-6) sts. Join and work even for 2 (2 ¼ - 2 ½) inch. Decrease for tip in next round: * K 2, K 2 tog. Repeat from * across round. K 1 round even. Cable Mittens

Cast on 40 sts. with No. 2 needles. Join, being careful not to twist sts. Work in ribbing K 2, P 2 for 2 inch. Change to No. 4 needles and pattern. 1st, 2nd and 3rd rounds: K 22, P 2, K 8, P 2, K 6. 4th round: K 22, P 2, slip next 4 sts. to an extra needle and hold in front of work, K next 4 sts., K the 4 sts. from extra needle (a cable made), P 2, K 6. Ladies' Angora Mittens

Cast on 44 sts. (16-16-12) with No. 2 needles. Join and work in ribbing K 2, P 2 for 2 ½ inch. Change to plain K and No. 4 needles and work even for 1 ¼ inch. Now start to increase for thumb at beg. of next round: Incr. 1 st., K 1, incr. 1 st., K to end of round. Work 2 rounds even. Next round: incr. 1 st., K 3, incr. 1 st., K to end of round. (More)

With m.c. and No. 1 needles cast on 52 sts. (16-20-16). Join, being careful not to twist sts. Work in ribbing K 1, P 1 for 1 inch. drop m.c., attach c.c. Work in ribbing K 1, P 1 for 2 rows, drop c.c., pick up m.c. Work in ribbing K 1, P 1 for 6 rows, drop m.c., pick up c.c. Work in ribbing K 1, P 1 for 6 rows. Break off c.c. Repeat these 8 rows for pattern.

Pattern Socks

With No. 1 needles cast on 66 sts. Join, being careful not to twist sts. Work in ribbing K 1, P 1 for 2 ½ inch. Change to No. 2 needles and pattern. Work even until the entire sock measures 7 ½ inch. or any des. length to heel. Slip 32 sts. to one needle for heel and divide the rem. 34 sts. for instep on two needles. Work over heel needle only. Polka Dot Socks

Entire sock is worked in ribbing K 6, P 2. Every 1 ½ inch. a c.c. dot is worked in every other K 6 rib as follows:

1st round: * K 2 m.c. attach a strand of c.c., K 2 c.c., drop c.c., pick up m.c. carrying it loosely in back, K 2, P 2, K 6, P 2. Repeat from * across round.

2nd round: * K 1 m.c., pick up c.c. carrying it loosely in back, K 4 c.c., drop c.c., pick up m.c. carrying it loosely in back, K 1 m.c., P 2, K 6, P 2. (More)


Cable Clock Socks

Cast on 64 (68) sts. with No. 1 needles, join and work in ribbing K 2, P 2 for 3 inch. (2 inch. for short socks). Change to No. 2 needles and work in pattern as follows: 1st, 2nd and 3rd rounds: P 1, K 4, P 2, K 4, P 1, K 20 (22) P 1, K 4, P 2, K 4, P 1, K 20 (22). 4th round: * P 1, slip next 2 sts. to an extra needle and hold in front of work. With m.c. and No. 1 needles cast on 60 sts. and work back and forth in ribbing K 1, P 1 for 1 ½ inch. Incr. 1 st. at the beg. and end of the last row of ribbing. Change to No. 2 needles and pattern. Work even until sock measures 4 ½ inch. or des. length to heel, ending with 16th row. Break off c.c. Child's Knee-Length Cable Socks

For all sizes cast on 72 sts. with No. 1 needles. Join and work in ribbing K 1, P 1 for 2 ½ inches. Fold the cuff in half and work next round double, (this means knitting the sts. on needle tog. with the sts. on cast on row). Work to within 3 sts. of end of round, then work single sts. only (this is opening for elastic). Change to No. 2 needles and pattern: * K 6, P 2, K 8, P 2. Repeat from * across round. (More)


Knee-Length Cable Socks

With No. 1 needles cast on 86 sts. (28-28-30). Join, being careful not twist sts. Work in ribbing K 1, P 1 for 1 ½ inch. Incr. 4 sts. at even intervals in last row of ribbing. Change to No. 2 needles and work in pattern as follows:

With No. 1 needles cast on 72 sts. Join, being careful not to twist sts. Work in ribbing K 2, P 2 for 2 inch. Change to No. 2 needles and work in plain K for 3 inch. Mark beg. of round. * Next round: K 2 tog., work all around to last 2 sts. of round, slip 1, K 1, and p.s.s.o. Work even for 1 inch. (More)

With m.c. and No. 1 needles cast on 64 sts. and work back and forth in ribbing K 2, P 2 for 3 inch. Change to No. 2 needles and pattern and work even until sock measures 7 inch., ending with 1st row. Break off m.c. With c.c. P across 16 sts. and slip them to a holder, P across next 32 sts. for instep and P across the rem. 16 sts. and slip them to another holder. Men's Cross Pattern Socks

Cast on 68 sts. with No. 1 needles, join and work in ribbing K 1, P 1 for 3 inch. Incr. 4 sts. at even intervals across last row of ribbing. Change to No. 2 needles and pattern. Work even until sock measures 7 inch., end with 1st round. Now divide the sts. as follows: for heel slip on 1 needle 36 sts. and divide rem. 36 sts. evenly on the 2 instep needles. Attach Nylon and starting on right side K across heel needle only, decr. 4 sts. across row. P back. 1st row: * slip 1, K 1, repeat from * all across row, end K 1. (More)


Spiral Socks Without Heel

Cast on 64 sts. (72 sts. for long socks). Join, being careful not to twist sts. and K 1, P 1 for 1 ½ (2 inch.). Change to pattern: 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounds: K 4, P 4. 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th rounds: P 1, * K 4, P 4, repeat from * across round, end P 3. 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th rounds: P 2, * K 4, P 4, repeat from * across round, end P 2. Cast on 64 sts. with No. 1 needles. Join, being careful not to twist sts. Work in ribbing K 2, P 2 for 3 ½ inch. (2 inch. for short socks). Change to No. 2 needles and K around until sock measures 6 inch. for short socks and 10 inch. for long socks. Slip 32 sts. to one needle for heel and divide the rem. 32 sts. on 2 needles for instep. Cast on 56 (60) sts. with No. 3 needles, join and work in ribbing K 2, P 2 for 4 (4 ½) inch. Change to K and work even for 6 rounds. Slip the next 28 (30) sts. to one needle for heel and divide the rem. 28 (30) sts. on 2 needles for instep. (More)


Bedsocks

Cast on 112 sts. and work in pattern for 8 inch. Put a marker in 14th st. from each end (not counting the slipped sts.). * Work in pattern until 2 K sts. before marker, slip next K st. (yarn in back), put next slip st. to a holder and keep in back of work, K next st., pull the slipped st. over the K st., put slip st. from holder back to left hand needle, slip this st., yarn in front, slip next st. the same way (there are now 2 slip sts. next to each other.) Cast on 88 sts. and work in ribbing K 2, P 2 for 3 ½ inches. Work 49 sts. in ribbing, turn, slip 1, K 9, turn, slip 1, K 12, turn, slip 1, K 15. Continue to work this way knitting 3 more sts. each row until no sts. are left over. K in garter st. for 6 rows. (More)
