MATERIALS REQUIRED. American Thread Company “Clover Leaf” Lustre Wool or “Clover Leaf” or "Dawn” Shetland Floss.
The Model illustrated was made in “Clover Leaf” Lustre Wool Shade #621 Reseda—20 Balls
Circular Knitting Needle #3
1 pr. Bone Knitting Needles #3—14 inches long
Steel Crochet Hook #2
Gauge: 13 sts—2 inches, 8 rows—1 inch.

Skirt

On Circular Needle cast on 350 sts. K 13, P 4, K 4, P 4, repeat from beginning all around and repeat this row for 13 inches even.
Next Row. Decrease one st at the beginning of every stripe of 13 knitted sts. (14 decreases), work 4 inches even.
Next Row. Decrease at end of every stripe of 12 sts and work 4 inches even.
Next Row. Decrease one st at the beginning of every 11 st stripe and work 4 rows even.
Next Row. Decrease one st at the end of every 10 st stripe and work 6 inches even or the length desired. Work 2 Rows of s c around the lower edge of skirt and crochet a casing for elastic at top of skirt.

Blouse

BACK. On Long Needles cast on 116 stitches.
1st Row. K 52, P 4, K 4, P 4, K 52.
2nd Row. P 52, K 4, P 4, K 4, P 52.
Repeat these two rows for 8 inches ending with purl row.
Next Row. K 2, P 4, K 4, P 4, * K 13, P 4, K 4, P 4. repeat from * 3 times, K 2.
Next Row. P 2, K 4, P 4, K 4, * P 13, K 4, P 4, K 4, repeat from * 3 times, P 2. Repeat the last 2 rows for 1 inch.
Next Row. Bind off 5 sts each side for underarm then decrease one st each side every other row 9 times. Continue even until work measures 6 inches from underarm.
Next Row. Work 26 sts, place these on a stitch holder, bind off 36 sts for back of neck and work on remaining 26 sts. Work even for ¾ of an inch. Increase one st every other row at neck 10 times. Cast on 8 sts at neck side and work even for 2 inches. Work one more inch even at neck and begin increasing one st at armhole every other row. Pick up sts from the stitch holder and work other shoulder to correspond, join sts and continue same as back increasing at underarm to correspond with decreases of back until there are 106 sts on needle. Cast on 5 sts each side and finish front same as back.

SLEEVES. Cast on 46 sts.
1st Row. K 17, P 4, K 4, P 4, K 17.
2nd Row. P 17, K 4, P 4, K 4, P 17. Repeat these two rows for one inch. Increase one st each side every 8th row until there are 84 sts working the pattern through the center of the sleeve. When sleeve measures 18 inches or desired length bind off 5 sts each side, then decrease 2 sts each side every other row until 22 sts remain, bind off, make other sleeve to correspond and finish with 2 rows of s c.

COLLAR. Cast on 106 sts, K 1, P 1 to end of row and repeat ribbing for entire collar. Work ½ inch even. Increase one st each side every ½ inch 7 times. After last increase work 50 sts and leave on needle, bind off 20 sts and continue across row, turn, work 50 sts, turn, bind off 15 sts and work across row. Turn, work 35 sts, turn, bind off 15 sts and work across row, turn, work back and bind off sts. Work other side of Collar to correspond.
Sew sleeves in place, sew underarm and sleeve seams. Sew Collar in position. Crochet beading around lower edge of blouse and join to skirt by running elastic through both headings at the same time.
Finish dress with a leather or Suede Belt or Crochet a belt as follows: With Steel Hook #2 make a ch the desired width and work a row of s c on ch.
2nd Row. Ch 3, 1 d c in each s c. Repeat 1st and 2nd rows for required length. Decrease 1 st each side until 6 stitches remain and work 1 row of s c all around belt. Finish with slide buckle.
