        Size: 6¾ to 7¼
REQUIREMENTS:
  YARN: 2-ounces of 3-ply Sport Yarn
  NEEDLES: 1-pr #2 single pointed
GAUGE: 8½ sts to an inch. 11 rows to an inch.
   RIGHT  GLOVE: CUFF: Using the #2 straight needles, cast on 56 sts. Work in ribbing  of k 1, p 1, for 3 inches. Now work in stockinette stitch (k 1 row, p 1 row),  until the work measures 5¼-inches from the beginning, ending with a knit row. THUMB: P 16 sts, place these sts onto a  thread; purl the next 10 sts, leave on the needle; place the remaining sts onto  a 2nd thread. Cast on 5 sts onto needle; knit these 15 sts; cast on 5 sts, now  working on these 20 sts in stockinette stitch for the thumb until the piece  measures 2¼-inches, ending with a purl row. Knit 2 sts together across the next  row. Thread a darning needle and draw through the remaining sts. Fasten on the  wrong side. Sew up thumb. Place the 30 sts off 2nd thread onto the needle, tie  yarn in; knit across these sts; pick up and knit 10 sts at base of thumb; knit  16 sts off thread. Purl 1 row, knit 1 row for 21-rows, (about 2-inches), ending  with a purl row. 1st FINGER: K 20  sts, place these sts onto a thread; knit the next 17 sts, leave on needle;  place the remaining 19 sts onto a thread. Purl across 17 sts, cast on 2 sts.  Now work in stockinette st for 2½-inches, ending with a purl row. Knit 2 sts  together across next row. Finish and sew up as thumb.
     2nd  FINGER: (With right side of work facing you). Take 7 sts from first thread,  (those nearest the first finger) onto a needle. Tie yarn in, cast on 3 sts,  knit these 10 sts; pick up and knit 3 sts at the base of the first finger; knit  7 sts off 2nd thread. On these 20 sts work in stockinette stitch for 3-inches,  ending with a purl row. Knit 2 sts together across next knit row. Finish as  other finger. 3rd FINGER: Take 6 sts  from first thread and place onto a needle. Tie yarn in, cast on 3 sts, knit  these 9 sts; pick up and knit 3 sts at base of 2nd finger; knit 6 sts from  thread. On these 18 sts, work in stockinette stitch for 2½-inches, ending with  a purl row. Knit 2 sts together across next row. Finish as other fingers. LITTLE FINGER: Place the sts from first  thread onto needle. Tie yarn in and knit these 7 sts; pick up and knit 3 sts at  base of 3rd finger; knit the 6 sts from 2nd thread. Work on these sts in  stockinette stitch for 2¼-inches, ending with a purl row. Knit 2 sts together  across next row. Finish as other finger and continue to sew down the side.
     LEFT  GLOVE: Work to correspond to the right one until you come to the thumb  opening. THUMB OPENING: P 30 sts;  place onto thread; purl the next 10 sts and leave on the needle; place the remaining  16 sts onto another thread. Cast on 5 sts at each side of the 10 thumb sts and  work as other thumb. Work glove to correspond to other one until you come to  the 1st finger. 1st FINGER: K 19  sts, place these sts onto a thread; knit the next 17 sts, cast on 2 sts onto  the needle; place the remaining sts onto a thread. Finish this finger and the  remainder of the fingers to correspond to the right glove.
     Trimming: Fold glove in two and press. With a contrasting color whip around the edge.  Work 3-lines of back stitch on back of glove as in illustration.
