Knitted Triangle Purse Pattern #2160

Materials: J. & P. Coats Knit-Cro-Sheen, or Clark's O.N.T. Cronita, 1 ball of White or any desired color. Milward's Casein knitting pins, 1 pair No. 1 (2½ mm. size). Milward's steel crochet hook No. 3. 1 pair 6-7 inch composition white handles. Lining material and crinoline.

Starting at bottom, cast on 81 sts. 1st row: P across. 2nd row: * P 8, k 1, repeat from * across. 3rd row: * P 2, k 7, repeat from * across. 4th row: * P 6, k 3, repeat from * across. 5th row: * P 4, k 5, repeat from * across. 6th row: * P 4, k 5, repeat from * across. 7th row: * P 6, k 3, repeat from * across. 8th row: * P 2, k 7, repeat from * across. 9th row: * P 8, k 1, repeat from * across. These last 8 rows constitute the pattern. Repeat these 8 rows 7 more times. Bind off. Make another piece the same. Sew pieces together, leaving 1½ inch opening at each side at top. Fold a piece of 9 by 11 inch crinoline or similar stiffening material to make interlining 5½ by 9 inches. Sew knitted bag to this interlining. Then line bag with the lining material. Sew on composition handles.

Chain Handle. With crochet hook and double thread, make a chain about 22 inches long. Break off. Draw ends through holes of handles and sew ends of chain together.
