E.255, Shrink and Stretch Resist, 5 skeins (1 oz. pull-out skeins) of Meadow Green and 1 skein of Glengarry Green for Sizes 38 and 40; 6 skeins of Meadow Green and 2 skeins of Glengarry Green for Size 42; 1 skein each of Scarlet, White and Navy for all sizes.
Milwards “Phantom” Aluminum Knitting Pins or Clark's O.N.T. Plastic Knitting Pins, 1 pair No. 3 (3 mm. size).
Milwards Steel Crochet Hook No. 2.
Buttons. Bobbins.

GAUGE: 7 sts make 1 inch; 9 rows make 1 inch.

RIGHT FRONT … Starting at lower edge with a bobbin of Meadow Green, cast on 2 sts and work in pat­tern as follows: 1st row: P across. 2nd row: Inc 1 st in first st (this is front edge), k 1. 3rd row: Cast on 4 sts, then p 2, k 1, p 3, inc 1 st in last st. 4th row: Attach a ball of White, with White inc 1 st in first st, k 4, p 1, k 2. 5th row: With White, cast on 4 sts, p 6, k 1, p 4, k 1, inc 1 st in last st. SLEEVE BINDING … With Meadow Green, cast on 12 sts. 1st row: P across. 2nd row: Inc 1 st in first st, k across to last 2 sts, k 2 tog. Repeat these 2 rows until piece is long enough to go around armhole edge. Bind off.
OUTER EDGE BINDING … Work as for Sleeve Binding until piece is long enough to go around all outer edges.
VERTICAL STRIPES … With crochet hook, 2 strands of yarn and using colors as indicated by arrows on chart, make a row of chain st in each of the purl rib sts.
Block to measurements. Sew in all ends securely on wrong side. Sew shoulder and side seams. Sew on bind­ing. Sew on buttons to correspond with buttonholes.
