Classic Mittens--Use instructions as given.
Striped Mittens--Use same instructions, working 2 rounds or 2 rows of each of 2 or more colors.
Children’s Snowman Mittens (Shown on Front Cover)--Use same instructions and embroider snowman with Angora on back.
Women’s Mittens may be trimmed with colored sequins and beads or as desired.

Fleisher’s or Bear Brand Twin-Pak Knitting Worsted; or
Fleisher’s or Bear Brand Twin-Pak Win-Knit Ozs 2 2 2 2 ½ 3
“Boye” Knitting Needles, 1 set Sock Needles,
Size 4 for Four Needle Mittens: or 1 pair Size 4 for Two-Needle Mittens.
GAUGE: 6 sts = 1 inch 9 rounds or rows = 1 inch
FOUR NEEDLE MITTENS
CUFF--Cast on and divide on 3 needles Sts 32 36 40 44 48
Join. Work k 2, p 2 ribbing for Ins 2 ½ 2 ½ 3 3 3 ½
decreasing in last round Sts 1 2 2 2 ---
There will be Sts 31 34 38 42 48
Hand--K even for Rds 3 3 3 4 4
First inc. round for thumb gore--Inc. 1 st in first st (first thumb st),
k 1, inc. 1 st in next st (last thumb st), k to end of round Sts 33 36 40 44 50
K 2 rounds even.
2nd inc. round--
