Baby's Knitted Slipover Pattern #6034

1 Pr. Standard Knitting Needles No. 2
Jack Frost Sport Yarn—2 2-oz. Balls

BACK: Cast on 70 sts. Work in ribbing K 1 P 1 for 1½ inches. Then work in stockinette st (K1 row P1 row) until piece measures 7 inches. Bind off 6 sts at beginning of next 2 rows. Continue in stockinette st for 4 inches. Bind off 8 sts at beginning of the next 4 rows. Bind off remaining sts.
FRONT: Cast on 70 sts. Work same as back to armhole. Bind off 6 sts at beginning of next 2 rows. Work 2½ inches. Work over 20 sts. Bind off next 18 sts loosely. On remaining 20 sts decrease 1 st on neck edge every other row 4 times. Work until piece measures 4½ inches from armhole. Bind off 8 sts from armhole side twice. Work other side to correspond.
SLEEVE: Cast on 40 sts. Work in ribbing K 1 P 1 for 1½ inches. Next row, increase 8 sts at even intervals. Work in stockinette st, increasing 1 st every 8th row each side until sleeve measures 7½ inches. Bind off 4 sts at beginning of each row until 12 sts remain. Bind off all. Sew one shoulder. On right side of garment pick up 68 sts for neckband. K 1 P 1 for 6 rows and bind off loosely. Sew in sleeves. Sew up sleeves and side seams.
