Jack Frost Sport Yarn—2 2-oz. Balls

Cast on 70 sts. K for 16 rows. Then work stockinette st (K 1 row P 1 row) until piece measures 7½ inches. Bind off 6 sts at beginning of next 2 rows. Continue in stockinette st for 4½ inches. Bind off 6 sts at beginning of next 6 rows. Bind off remaining sts.
RIGHT FRONT: Cast on 40 sts, K 8 rows. Work buttonhole as follows: K 2 sts, bind off next 2 sts, work across row. Next Row: Cast on 2 sts over bound off sts. Repeat buttonholes every 1½ inches. K until 16 rows from beginning. Keep 1st 6 sts in garter st for buttonhole band; remaining sts in stockinette st until piece measures 7½ inches. Bind off 6 sts for armhole. Work 3 inches. Bind off 12 sts for neck. Decrease 1 st on neck edge every other row 4 times. Work until piece measures 4½ inches from armhole. Bind off 6 sts 3 times from armhole side. Work left front to correspond, omitting buttonholes.
SLEEVES: Cast on 38 sts. K 1 P 1 in ribbing for 2 inches. Next Row—Increase 8 sts at even intervals, work stockinette st, increasing 1 st each side every 8th row, until sleeve measures 7½ inches. Bind off 4 sts at beginning of each row until 12 sts remain. Bind off all. Sew up shoulders. Then sew in sleeves, side and underarm seams.
NECKBAND: Pick up 62 sts from end to end. K1 P 1 for 6 rows. Bind off.
