These directions are for Size 10. Changes for Sizes 12, 14, 16 and 18 are in parentheses.

MATERIALS REQUIRED:

Columbia-Minerva Nylon and Wool Calibrette (2 oz skein) OR Columbia-Minerva Calibar (2 oz skein) - Main Color 10(11-12-12-13) skeins and 1 skein each of Green and Red yarn for Embroidery

Knitting Needles: 1 pair each of "Boye" Sizes 6 and 10 ½ - 14 inch

Gauge: 3 ½ sts to 1 inch, 5 rows to 1 inch (stockinette st - Size 10 ½ needles)

1 "Boye" Steel Crochet Hook Size 0

BLOCKING MEASUREMENTS:
Width across Back at underarm 16" (17 ¼"-18 ¼"-19 ½"-20 ½")
Width across Each Front at underarm, including Facing 11 ¼"(11 ¾" -12 ¼"-12 ¾"-13 ¼")
Length from back of neck to start 19 ¼"(19 ½"-20"-21 ¼"-21 ½")
Width across Sleeve at upperarm 13 ¼"(13 ¾"-14 ¼"-15 ¼"-16")

BACK: With Size 6 needles cast on 56(60-64-68-72) sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 6 rows, then change to Size 10 ½ needles and work in stockinette st. When work measures 12"(12"-12"-12 ½"-12 ½") or desired length from start to underarm, To Shape Raglan Armholes: Bind off 3 sts at beg of each of the next 2 rows, then dec 1 st each side every other row as follows: Row 1 - (Right side of work) K 2, K 2 tog, K to last 4 sts, sl 1, K 1, psso, K 2. Row 2 - P. Repeat these 2 rows until 16(18-20-20-22) sts remain for back of neck. Bind off.

LEFT FRONT: With Size 6 needles cast on 39(41-43-45-47) sts. Row 1 - (Right side of work) * K 1, P 1, repeat from * across to within last 11 sts, K 5, sl 1, K 5 (Front Border and Facing). Row 2 - P 11, * K 1, P 1, repeat from * across row. Repeat these 2 rows 2 times more. Change to Size 10 ½ needles and work as follows: Row 1 - K across to within last 6 sts, sl 1, K 5. Row 2 - P. Repeat these 2 rows for pattern. When work measures same as Back to underarm, To Shape Raglan Armhole: Bind off 3 sts at side edge, then dec 1 st at same edge every other row as follows: Row 1 - K 2, K 2 tog, K across to within last 6 sts, sl 1, K 5. Row 2 - P. Repeat these 2 rows until there are 25(26-27-27-28) sts on needle. To Shape Neck: Continuing to dec at armhole edge, bind off 14(15-16-16-17) sts at front edge, then dec 1 st at same edge every row 3 times. When 2 sts remain, bind off. Place markers for 6 buttons at front edge, having first marker 1 ¼ inches from start and 6th marker 1 inch below neck edge.

RIGHT FRONT: Work to correspond with Left Front, having Front Border and Facing at opposite side and working buttonholes to correspond with markers as follows: (On right side of work) K 2, yo, K 2 tog, K 1, sl 1, K 1, yo, K 2 tog, K to end of row. Work decs for armhole as follows: Row 1 - (Right side of work) K across to last 4 sts, st 1, K 1, psso, K 2. Row 2 - P. Repeat these 2 rows.

SLEEVES: With Size 6 needles cast on 30(32-34-34-36) sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 6 rows. Change to Size 10 ½ needles and work even in stockinette st for 8 rows. Inc 1 st each side, then inc 1 st each side every 8th row 4(4-4-2-2) times more, then every 6th row 3(3-3-7-7) times - 46(48-50-54-56) sts on needle. When work measures 14 ½"(15"-15"-15 ½"-15 ½") or desired length from start, To Shape Raglan Cap of Sleeve: Bind off 3 sts at beg of each of the next 2 rows, then work decs same as for armhole of Back until 6 sts remain. Bind off.

COLLAR: With Size 10 ½ needles cast on 61(65-69-69-73) sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, as follows: Row 1 - (Right side of work) K 1, * P 1, K 1, repeat from * across. Row 2 - P 1, * K 1, P 1, repeat from * across. Repeat these 2 rows for 4 inches. Bind off in ribbing.

Sew Sleeves to Fronts and Back, leaving bound-off sts at top of each Sleeve free. Sew sleeve and underarm seams. Turn Facing at front edges under and sew in place. Sew around each set of buttonholes. Sew Collar to neck edge, starting and ending 1 ¼ inches from front edges. Work 1 row of sl st at front edges of Cardigan. Sew snap fastener at neck edge. Following Chart (see below) work flowers with Red in Lazy Daisy Stitch and French Knots with Green, placing as illustrated or as desired.
