These directions are for Size 10. Changes for Sizes 12, 14, 16 and 18 are in parentheses.

MATERIALS REQUIRED:

Columbia-Minerva Nylon and Wool Calibrette (2 oz skein) OR Columbia-Minerva Calibar (2 oz skein) Color 1 - 9(9--10-11-12) skeins and Color 2 - 1 skein for all Sizes

Knitting Needles: 1 pair "Boye" Size 10 ½ - 14 inch

Gauge: 7 sts to 2 inches, 5 rows to 1 inch

BLOCKING MEASUREMENTS:
Width across Back or Front at underarm 16 ½"(17 ¾"-18 ¾"-20"-21 ¼")
Width across Back or Front above armhole shaping 14 ¼"(15 ½"-16 ½"-17 ¾"-18 ¾")
Length of Back or Front from turn of facing at neck edge to turn of hem at lower edge 22 ½"(22 ½"-23 ½"-23 ½"-24 ½")
Width of Sleeve at upperarm 15"(15"-16"-16"-17")

BACK: With Color 1 cast on 54(58-62-66-70) sts. Work in stockinette st for 3 rows. Next row K 1 row on wrong side for turn of hem. With Color 1 continue in stockinette st for 4 rows, then join Color 2 and work pattern st band as follows: Row 1 - With Color 2 K. Row 2 - With Color 2 P. Row 3 - * With Color 2 K 2, with Color 1 K 2, repeat from * across, ending with Color 2 K 2. Row 4 - * With Color 2 P 2, with Color 1 P 2, repeat from * across, ending with Color 2 P 2. Rows 5 and 6 - Repeat Rows 1 and 2. Cut Color 2 strand and with Color 1 only continue to work in stockinette at, inc 1 st each side every 6th row 2 times 58(62-66-70-74) sts on needle. When work measures 13 ½"(13 ½"-14"-14"-14 ½") or desired length from turn of hem to underarm, To Shape Armholes: Bind off 4 sts at beg of each of the next 2 rows. When armholes measure 7 ½"(7 ½"-8"-8"-8 ½"), measured straight from bound-off sts at underarm, ending with a P row, join Color 2 and work the 6 rows of pattern st band as at lower edge, then work with Color 1 only AND AT THE SAME TIME, To Shape Shoulders: Starting on Row 3 of band, bind off 4(4-5-5-5) sts at beg of each of the next 6(4-6-4-2) rows, then bind off 0(5-0-6-6) sts at beg of each of next 0(2-0-2-4) rows - 26(28-28-30-32) sts on needle. With Color 1 K 1 row, P 1 row, then P 1 row on right side for turn of facing. Work 3 more rows in stockinette st, bind off.

FRONT: Work same as Back.

SLEEVES: With Color 1 cast on 32(34-36-38-40) sts. Work in stockinette st for 3 rows, then K 1 row on wrong side for turn of hem. Continue to work in stockinette st and when work measures 1 inch from turn of hem, inc 1 st each side, then inc 1 st each side every 6th row 9(8-10-9-9) times more - 52(52-58-58-60) sts on needle. When work measures about 14"(14 ½"-14 ½"-15"-15") or desired length from turn of hem, bind off.

Sew shoulder seams. Sew Sleeves in place. Sew underarm and sleeve seams. Turn up hem at lower edge and at sleeve edges and sew. Turn under facing at neck edge and sew.
