Evening Cover Up Pattern

MATERIALS — Bear Brand Rococo or Fleisher's Paradise "A", 5 skeins and
Bucilla Metalix non-tarnish Metal Thread "B", 4 tubes.
Bucilla Plastic Needles, 1 pair each Sizes 2 and 10.
Bucilla Plastic Crochet Hook, Size 4.

GAUGE: 7 rows = 1 inch

COVER-UP

With size 2 needles, and 1 strand each of A and B, cast on 81 sts.
PatternRow 1—K 1, * p 2, k 2; repeat from * to end.
Row 2—P 1, * k 2, p 2; repeat from * to end.
Repeat these 2 rows for 2½ ins. for cuff. With size 10 needles, continue pat. until 22 ins. from beg. With size 2 needles, work 2½ ins. for 2nd cuff. Bind off.
Sew side edges tog. for about 4 ins. from lower edge of cuffs.

FRINGE—From right side, beg. at seam, with 2 strands A and 1 strand B make loop on hook, 1 sc in end of first row above seam, drawing up loop on hook to about 2 ins., drop loop from hook, * 1 slip st in end of next row, pull up loop on hook to 2 ins., tighten st at base of loop, drop loop from hook; repeat from * around, keeping all loops even, end 1 slip st in first sc. Fasten off. Steam lightly.

CAMISOLE

With size 2 needles, and 1 strand each of A and B, cast on 81 sts. Work pat. for 2½ ins. With size 10 needles, continue pat. until 11 ins. from lower edge. Bind off firmly. Make 2.

TURN-BACK CUFF—With size 10 needles, and 1 strand each of A and B, cast on 81 sts. Work pat. for 2 ins. Bind off loosely. Make 2.

SHOULDER STRAPS—With size 2 needles, and 1 strand each of A and B, cast on 13 sts. Work pat. for 14 ins. or to desired length. Bind off. Make 2.

FINISHING—Sew side seams of camisole and turn-back cuff. Sew cast-on edge of cuff to bound-off edge of cami­sole, right side out, holding in to desired size. From right side, with 1 strand each of A and B, work 1 row sc around bound-off edge of cuff. Ch 1, turn, work 1 row sc from wrong side; join with slip st. Fasten off. Work 1 row sc from right side, on side edges of shoulder straps holding in firmly to avoid stretching. Sew on straps adjusting to proper length. Steam lightly.
