Mitts in a Hurry Pattern

MATERIALS:
These mitts have been especially designed for knitting with Beehive Caressa and 2 ozs. will make a pair for each size. You can also use P & B Speedwell, Quick Knit Wool and will require 2 ozs. for all sizes up to and including 10 yrs. 12 yrs. takes 4 ozs. The tension of the knitting, which determines the size, produces warm cosy mitts when you make your choice one or other of these two wools. The needles used are: Two No. 8 Beehive Knitting Needles.

Tension: 5 sts. = 1 inch and 13 rows = 2 ins.

Clark's O.N.T. Plastic Sock Needles,
1 set No. 1 and 1 set No. 4.

GAUGE: (Stockinette Stitch) 7 sts make 1 inch; 10 rnds make 1 inch.

   Starting at wrist, cast on 32 sts onto three No. 4 needles. Join, being careful not to twist sts. 1st rnd: With No. 1 needles, * k 2, p 2. Repeat from * around. Repeat 1st rnd until piece meas­ures 1¼ inches. Change to No. 4 needles.
