Knitting Bag Pattern

Materials: Clark's O.N.T. Knitting and Crochet Cotton, 3 balls of Coffee Brown and 2 balls of Beige.
Milward's Casein knitting pins, 1 pair No. 3 (3 mm. size).
1 pair of wooden handles with slit measuring about 11½ inches.

Gauge: 8 sts make 1 inch; 12 rows make 1 inch.

Bag is made in one piece, then folded in half and sewed together at sides.

With double thread of Coffee Brown cast on 122 sts. 1st row: P across. Drop Coffee Brown. 2nd row: Attach Beige; then, * k 2, keeping thread at back of work slip next st as if to p. Repeat from * across, ending row with k 2. 3rd row: * P 2; keeping thread in front of work, slip the next st as if to p. Repeat from * across, ending row with p 2. Drop Beige. 4th row: Pick up Coffee Brown, k across. 5th row: Same as 1st row. These last 4 rows constitute the pattern. Repeat pattern for 30 inches. Bind off.

Slip the bound-off edge through slit of one handle, and hem. Sew opposite end to other handle in same way. Sew sides together on wrong side of work.
