Materials Required: 
  AMERICAN  THREAD COMPANY
  "DAWN"  DE LUXE FINGERING YARN or "DAWN" NYLON
3 ounces Canary or Amber or color of your choice
1 set Double Pointed Knitting Needles No. 2 OR ANY  SIZE NEEDLES WHICH WILL RESULT IN STITCH GAUGE BELOW 
GAUGE: 8 sts = 1 inch
Cast on 66 sts, divide sts on 3 needles (21 sts on 1  st needle, 24 sts on 2nd needle, 21 sts on 3rd needle), join. Work in K 1, P 1  ribbing for 2 inches. Then work in pattern as follows: 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th ROUNDS: * K 3, P 3, repeat from * all around. 5th and 6th ROUNDS: * P 3, K 3,  repeat from * all around. NEXT 8 ROUNDS:  * K 3, P 3, repeat from * all around. 15th  and 16th ROUNDS: * P 3, K 3, repeat from * all around. Repeat from 1st  pattern round until work measures 7½ inches from beg or length desired ending  with 4th pattern round. 
    HEEL: Divide sts as follows: sl last 6 sts off 1st needle  onto 2nd needle and 1st 3 sts of 3rd needle onto 2nd needle for instep (33 sts  on 2nd needle). Place these sts on st holder. K across 15 sts, turn.  NEXT  ROW: P across row dec 1 st at center (32 sts). Then K 1 row, P 1 row for 2½  inches always slipping 1st st of these rows.
    TURN HEEL: Sl 1, K 1 7, sl 1, K 1, p.s.s.o., K 1, turn; Sl 1, P  5, P 2 tog, P 1, turn; Sl 1, K 6, sl, K 1, p.s.s.o., K I, turn; Sl 1, P 7, P 2  tog, P 1, turn. Continue in the above manner until all sts have been worked  ending with a K row (18 sts on needle). Divide these sts on two needles. With 9  sts on needle, pick up 16 sts on side of heel (first needle), work across 33  instep sts (2nd needle), pick up 16 sts on other side of heel, add remaining 9  sts of heel on 3rd needle. 
  Work 1 round even. Decrease every other round as  follows: 1st needle: K to within 3 sts of end of needle, K 2 tog, K 1; 2nd  needle: work in pattern; 3rd needle: K 1, sl 1, K 1, p.s.s.o., K to end of  round. Work one round even. Repeat last 2 rounds until there are 65 sts on  needle. Dec 1 st in next row on instep sts. Work even until foot measures 7½  inches from heel or 2 inches less than length desired. 
    DECREASE FOR  TOE—1st needle: K to within 3 sts of  end of needle, K 2 tog, K 1; 2nd needle: K 1, sl 1, K 1, p.s.s.o., work to  within 3 sts of end of same needle, K 2 tog, K 1; 3rd needle: K 1, sl 1, K 1,  p.s.s.o., work to end of round. K one round even. Repeat these 2 rounds until  16 sts remain (8 sts on 1st needle and 4 sts on each back needle ending with  needle No. 1). Slip 4 sts from No. 3 needle to No. 1 needle, cut yarn leaving a  12 inch length. Weave these sts tog.
