Stole with Velvet Ribbon Pattern

MATERIALS: NOMOTTA Mothproof Stadium, two ounce balls.

KNITTING NEEDLES: 1 pair straight 14" Size 10½ (standard)

ACCESSORY: 11½ yards 1 inch velvet ribbon.

GAUGE: 4 sts—1 inch.

With Size 10½ needles, cast on 88 sts. Work as follows:
Rows 1, 2, 3 and 4: Knit.
Row 5: * Insert needle into stitch as if to Knit, wrap yarn around needle 7 times and draw through this stitch, take stitch off left hand needle, repeat from * across the row.
Row 6: * Knit 1 into the center loop of the 7 loops dropping the 3 extra loops each side of this loop off the needle thus forming the long stitch, repeat from * across the row. Repeat these 6 rows 4 times more, then Knit 4 rows.
Bind off.
Make 2 more pieces in the same manner.

FINISHING: Sew the short ends together to form one oblong piece. Cut six pieces of ribbon 68 inches long. Allowing ½ inch to turn under at the ends, sew each side of ribbon over the garter stitch bands.
