MATERIALS:
Extra soakers for the new baby are always welcome. This style takes 2 ozs. of Beehive Fingering 4 ply Patonised or 2 ozs. of Patwin 4 ply Patonised or 1 ball of Diana Soaker Wool Patonised or 1 ball of Crocus Soaker Wool Patonised. For satisfaction with these instructions, be sure to make your choice one of these quality yarns. Two No. 9 Queen Bee Knitting Needles are required for the knitting.

MEASUREMENTS: Length at center front 8½ ins. Width all around 18 ins.

Beginning at top of waistband at back, cast on 60 sts. Work 1½ ins. (K2. P2) ribbing.

Knit even in Garter st. (plain knitting every row) for 4½ ins.

Work 5 ins. (K2. P2) ribbing.

Knit even in Garter st. for 4½ ins.

Work 1½ ins. (K2. P2) ribbing. Work should measure 17 ins. from beginning. Cast off loosely in ribbing.

Sew side seams down from waistband for ins. For the cord, cast on 120 sts. loosely. Cast off loosely. This should measure about 34 ins. when stretched. Darn in ends. With a bodkin, thread the cord in and out through waistband ribbing, ¾ inch from top edge.
