1 Pr. Standard No. 7 Needles
Double pointed Needle
Scale: 6½ sts to 1 in.
Jack Frost Sport Yarn—7 2-oz. Balls

BACK: With No. 4 Needles cast on 100 sts. Work in ribbing of K 2, P 2, for 3½ in. Change to No. 7 Needles and P 1 row increasing to 120 sts at even intervals across row. Work in pattern as follows:
Row 1 (right side)—P 2, * K 2, P 2, K 2, P 4; repeat from * across row ending K 2, P 2, K 2, P 2.
Row 2—K 2, * P 2, K 2, P 2, K 4; repeat from * across row ending P 2, K 2, P 2, K 2. Repeat above 2 rows until piece measures 14 in. from lower edge.
Bind off 7 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for under­arm; decrease 1 st at each end every other row 4 times. Work even until piece measures 8½ in. from underarm. Bind off 8 sts at beginning of each of next 8 rows for shoulders. Change to No. 4 Needles increasing to 36 sts. Work in ribbing of K 2, P 2, for 6 rows. Bind off.

FRONT: With No. 4 Needles cast on 100 sts. Work in ribbing of K 2, P 2, for 3½ in. Change to No. 7 Needles and P 1 row increasing to 125 sts at even intervals across row. Work in pattern as follows:
Row 1—P 2, * K 2, P 2, K 2, P 4, K 3, P 3, K 3, P 4; repeat from * across row ending K 2, P 2, K 2, P 2.
Row 2—K 2, * P 2, K 2, P 2, K 4, P 3, K 3, P 3, K 4; repeat from * across row ending P 2, K 2, P 2, K 2.
Repeat above 2 rows working a cable twist over each group of K 3, P 3, K 3, across the row, on the 3rd and every 16th row thereafter as follows: slip the first 6 sts to double pointed Needle (D P N), hold in back of work; K the next 3 sts, then bring the 6 slipped sts forward and slip the 3 P sts from D P N to left hand Needle and P them, then K the 3 remaining sts from D P N.
When piece measures 14 in. from lower edge, bind off 8 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm; decrease 1 st at each end every other row 4 times, then divide work for V neck as follows: work over 50 sts; place on st.-holder.
P 2 tog., work across row. Keeping armhole edge even; de­crease 1 st at neck edge every 3rd row 18 times. Work even on remaining 32 sts until piece measures 8½ in, from under­arm. Starting at shoulder edge, bind off 8 sts every other row 4 times. Work other side to correspond, omitting the decrease at point of V.

FRONT NECKBAND: With No. 4 Needles on right side of garment, pick up 66 sts from left shoulder to point of V, 1 st at point of V, 66 sts from point of V to right shoulder. Work in ribbing of K 2, P 2, decreasing 1 st at each side of st at point of V on every row for 6 rows. Bind off decreasing as given above.
Sew shoulder and underarm seams.

SLEEVES: With No. 4 Needles cast on 52 sts. Work in ribbing of K 2, P 2, for 3½ in. Change to No. 7 Needles and P 1 row increasing to 60 sts at even intervals across row. Work in pat­tern as given for back increasing 1 st at each end on the first and every 6th row thereafter to 88 sts. Work even until piece measures 20 in. from lower edge or desired length. Bind off 8 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm; decrease 1 st at each and every other row 5 times, then every 4th row 3 times. Bind off 2 sts at beginning of every row until 20 sts remain. Bind off remaining sts.
Sew sleeve seams. Sew sleeves in place.
