Our neat fitting little beanie with its jaunty pom-pom was knitted to match the Boy's Blazer & Pants Pattern. We used P & B Superior Double Knitting, Patonised. By being careful to use this wool, you can be sure of the same satisfactory results with these instructions. You will need: Approx. 1 oz. Main Colour (B) and small quantity of Contrasting Colour (A). (both sizes). Two No. 9 and two No. 8 Queen Bee Knitting Needles.

MATERIALS:

This wool, firmly knitted as given in the instructions has the "body" needed to preserve the mushroom effect. 2 ozs. are required for sizes 2 and 4 yrs. (6 and 8 yrs.—4 ozs.). HEAD SIZE: 20 to 20¾ ins. to fit 2 and 4 years. 20¾ to 21¼ ins. to fit 6 and 8 years.

Tension: 5 sts. = 1 inch and 15 rows = 2 ins. in Stocking st.

KNITTING NEEDLES: 1 pair "Boye" Needles, Size 7—or size you require to knit to gauge given below. 1 pair "Boye" Needles, Size 4. "Boye" Hook, Size E (2).

KNITTING NEEDLES: 1 pair "Boye" Needles, Size 10½—or size you require to knit to gauge given below. "Boye" Crochet Hook, Size J (9).

GAUGE: 4 sts = 1 inch; 9 rows = 2 inches

MATERIALS: FLEISHER'S or BUCILLA IMPORTED ANGORA, 3 balls; and FLEISHER'S or BEAR BRAND "SHETLAND AND WOOL"; or BOTANY SCOTTIE "SHETLAND AND WOOL", 1 skein (2 oz.)

KNITTING NEEDLES: 1 set "Boye" Double Pointed Needles, Size 6.
