Materials—Fleisher’s De Luxe Zephyr Germantown, 5 balls White.
Fleisher’s Silverflake, 3 balls Color.
White Knitting Needles, 1 pair Size 8.
White Crochet Hook, Size 3.
Gauge: 17 sts = 4 inches
8 rows = 1 inch

With Silverflake, cast on 141 sts.

First row—With Germantown, purl.

2nd row—Knit.

3rd row—With Silverflake, purl.

4th row--* K 2 tog, yo; repeat from *, end k 1. Repeat first, 2nd and 3rd row once.

8th row—With Silverflake, k 1, * yo, k 2 tog; repeat from * to end. Repeat these 8 rows until shawl is square, end with 2 rows Germantown. Bind off with Silverflake as to p.

Crochet Edge—With Silverflake, working from right side, 1 sc in each st on bound-off edge, 3 sc at corner, 2 sc in every 3 rows on side edge, 3 sc at corner; continue in same way on other 2 sides. Join, ch 1.

Picot row—Working from same side, * 1 sc in each of 3 sc, ch 3, 1 sc from front around post of last sc worked; repeat from * around, working 3 sc in each corner, join. Fasten off. Steam lightly.
