Materials—Fleisher’s Superior Knitting Worsted, ½ skein Main Color, a few yards Contrasting Color from Robe No. 3185, page 17
White Knitting Needles, 1 pair Size 2.
White Crochet Hook, Size 3.
1 pair Bucilla Slipper Soles, Art. 4554.
Gauge: 6 sts = 1 inch
10 rows = 1 inch

Left Half—Cast on 22 sts for back of slipper.

First row (right side)—K 2, * p 2, k 2; repeat from * to end.

2nd row—P 2, * k 2, p 2; repeat from * to end.

3rd row—Same as 2nd row,

4th row—Same as first row. Repeat these 4 rows for pattern. Work beading for cord in 5th row as follows: Work 6 sts, yo, p 2 tog, finish row. Continue pattern, repeating holes for beading every 8th row 5 times. Work 2 rows after last hole.

Next row—Work 16 sts, bind off last 6 sts. Break off. Slip sts to holder.

Right Half—Cast on 22 sts. Work 4 rows.

Next row—Work 14 sts, p 2 tog, yo, finish row. Work to correspond to left half, end with 2 rows after last hole. Bind off 6 sts at beginning of next row, finish row.

Instep—Work 16 sts, cast on 2 sts for center seam sts, take up 16 sts of left half, work to same needle (34 sts). Work 1 row of pattern, purling the 2 center sts. *

First dec. row (right side)—Work to within 2 sts of center seam sts, work 2 tog (k or p, to keep pattern); k 2 seam sts, work 2 tog; finish row. Work 2 rows even, keeping pattern, k seam sts on right and p on wrong side. Repeat from * 5 times (10 sts). Bind off. Steam.

Finishing—Sew cast-on edges together for back seam; sew to sole.

Edging—With mc, working from wrong side, beginning st back seam, work 1 row of sc around entire top of slipper, increasing at corners; join in first sc. Work 2nd row as for 2nd row of Bathrobe edging.

Cords—Cut 1 strand 1 ½ yards long, of each color and twist into cord as for Bathrobe. With cc, make 2 tassels. Turn down cuff as illustrated.
