MATERIALS REQUIRED:

Columbia-Minerva Knitting Worsted (4 oz skein) - 5(5-6-6) skeins

OR

Columbia-Minerva Calypso Germantown Knitting Worsted (2 or 4 oz skein) - 18(20-22-24) ozs

Knitting Needles: 1 pair each "Boye" Sizes 4 and 8 - 14 inch and 1 "Boye" cable needle
Gauge: 5 sts to 1 inch; 7 rows to 1 inch (pat st - Size 8 needles)
1 "Boye" Steel Crochet Hook Size 0

BACK: With Size 4 needles cast on 85(91-95-101) sts. Work in ribbing as follows: Row 1: P 1, *K 1, P 1, repeat from * across row. Row 2: K 1, *P 1, K 1, repeat from * across row. Repeat these 2 rows for 2 inches. Change to Size 8 needles and work in pat as follows: Row 1: (Right side of work) P 1, *K 1, P 1, repeat from * across row. Row 2: P. Repeat these 2 rows for pat. When work measures 12”(12”-12 ½”-12 ½”), or desired length from start to underarm, To Shape Raglan Armholes: Bind off 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows, then dec as follows: Row 1: (Right side of work) K 1, sl 1, K 1, psso, work in pat to last 3 sts, K 2, tog, K 1. Row 2: P. Repeat these 2 rows 29(31-32-34) times more. Bind off rem 21(23-25-27) sts for back of neck.

LEFT FRONT: With Size 4 needles cast on 55(57-59-61) sts. Work as follows: Row 1: (Right side of work) *K 1, P 1, repeat from * 19(20-21-22) times more, K 15 (front border and facing). Row 2: P 15, *K 1, P 1, repeat from * across row. Repeat these 2 rows for 2 inches, inc'ing 1 st on last row in 17th st from front edge - 56(58-60-62) sts on needle. Change to Size 8 needles and work in pat as follows: Row 1: (Right side of work) *K 1, P 1, repeat from * across to within last 22 sts, K 6, P 1, K 15. Row 2: P 15, K 1, P 6, K 1, P to end of row. Rows 3 and 4: Repeat Rows 1 and 2. Row 5: (Cable row) *K 1, P 1, repeat from * across to within last 22 sts, sl next 3 sts onto cable needle and hold in back of work, K next 3 sts, then K the 3 sts from cable needle (cable twist), P 1, K 15. Row 6: Same as Row 2. Rows 7 and 8: Same as Rows 1 and 2. Repeat from Row 1 for pat. When work measures same as Back to underarm, To Shape Raglan Armhole: Bind off 2 sts at side edge, then dec as follows: Row 1: K 1, sl 1, K 1, psso, work across row. Row 2: P. Repeat these 2 rows 29 (31-32-34) times more AND AT THE SAME TIME when front edge measures 14”(14 ½”-15 ½”-16”), To Shape Neck: Sl 15 sts onto st holder at front edge, dec 1 st at same edge, then dec 1 st at same edge every 4th row 8(8-9-9) times. When all decs have been completed, bind off last st. Place markers for 5 buttons at front edge, having first marker about 2 ½ inches from start and 5th marker ½ inch below first neck dec.

RIGHT FRONT: Work to correspond with Left Front, reversing pat, working front border and facing and decs at opposite sides and working double buttonholes to correspond with markers as follows: (Right side of work) K 2, bind off 3 sts, K 5, bind off 3 sts, K 2, work to end of row in pat. Next row cast on 3 sts over each set of bound-off sts. To Shape Raglan Armhole: Bind off 2 sts at side edge, then dec 1 st at same edge as follows: Row 1: (Right side of work) Work across to last 3 sts, K 2 tog, K 1. Row 2: P.

SLEEVES: With Size 4 needles cast on 43(45-47-49) sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 2 inches. Change to Size 8 needles and work in pat same as for Back, inc'ing 1 st each side, then inc 1 st each side every 6th row 11(12-12-13) times more - 67(71-73-77) sts on needle. When work measures 15”(15”-15 ½”-15 ½”), or desired length from start to underarm, To Shape Raglan Cap of Sleeve: Bind off 2 sts at beg of next 2 rows, then dec 1 st each side every other row as for armholes of Back until 3 sts rem, bind off.

COLLAR-RIGHT HALF: Starting at outside edge, with Size 8 needles cast on 48(50-52-54) sts. Work in pat as follows: Row 1: (Right side of work) P 2, K 6, *P 1, K 1, repeat from * across row. Row 2: P to within last 9 sts, K 1, P 6, K 2. Rows 3 and 4: Same as Rows 1 and 2. Row 5: (Cable row) P 2, twist cable on next 6 sts as before, *P 1, K 1, repeat from * across, ending P 2 tog. Row 6: P 2 tog, then work same as Row 2. Row 7: P 2, K 6, *p 1, K 1, repeat from * across to last 2 sts, P 2 tog. Rows 8 through 11: Repeat Rows 6 and 7 two times. Row 12: Same as Row 6. Repeat Rows 5 through 12 for pat until 1 st rem. Bind off.

COLLAR-LEFT HALF: Work to correspond with Right Half, reversing pat and decs.

Sew Sleeves to Fronts and Back. Sew underarm and sleeve seams. Sew dec edge of Collar to neck edge, having last st of Collar at first neck dec. Sew seam at back of Collar.

LEFT COLLAR BORDER: Sl the 15 sts of front border and facing onto Size 8 needles and continue to work in St St until front border fits front edge of Collar. Bind off.

RIGHT COLLAR BORDER: Work as for Left Front Border.

Sew Collar Borders in place. Turn under front facings and sew, working around buttonholes. Work 1 row of sc across cast-on edge of Collar.
