        BOY'S PULLOVER 2017
Size 3-4
Materials Required–AMERICAN THREAD  COMPANY 
"DAWN"  SHETLAND TYPE FLOSS OR "DAWN" WOOL FLOSS 
3 1-oz. Balls Dk.  Blue or Main Color. 
1 1-oz. Ball each  of Cardinal and Amber. 
1 Pr. Knitting  Needles No. 2. 
1 Pr. Knitting  Needles No. 4. 
Measurements–Chest  23 inches. 
  Length from lower  edge to back of neck including border–14 inches. 
  Length of sleeve at  underarm–10 inches. 
Gauge–13 sts = 2 inches. 9 rows = 1 inch.
BACK. On fine needles  with Dk. Blue cast on 84 sts for lower edge and work in ribbing of K 2, P 2 for  2½ inches. 
  Change to large  needles and continue in stockinette st. Work about 4 inches following color  pattern of Girls' sweater then work in Dk. Blue until underarm measures 9  inches or is length desired. 
  The remainder of  back is worked in stripe color pattern. 
  Next 2 Rows–Bind off 4 sts at  the beginning of each row. 
  Next 8 Rows–Decrease one st at  the beginning of each row. Work even for 32 rows. 
  Next 4 Rows–Bind off 10 sts at  the beginning of each row. 
  Change to fine  needles and with Dk. Blue work 5 rows of ribbing (K 2, P 2) bind off. 
  FRONT. With Dk. Blue and  fine needles cast on 92 sts and work in ribbing same as back. Change to large  needles and work same as back to underarm. 
  Next 2 Rows–Beginning the same  color scheme as the back, bind off 4 sts at the beginning of each row. 
  Next 8 Rows–Decrease one st at  the beginning of each row. Next row start shaping neck. On the wrong side Purl  the 1st 36 sts and slip them on a st holder, bind off the next 4 sts, purl to  end of row. * Work back to neck edge knitting the last 2 sts together, turn and  work to armhole edge. Repeat from * until 16 decreases have been made and work  5 rows even. Bind off 10 sts at armhole edge every other row twice. Work other  side to correspond beginning work at neck edge. 
  NECKBAND. With fine needles  using Dk. Blue, and working on the right side, pick up and K 36 sts on left  side of neck edge, 4 sts on the 4 bound off sts, and 36 sts on other side of  neck. Work in ribbing of K 2, P 2 for 5 rows. 
  SLEEVES. Entire sleeve is  worked in Dk. Blue. On fine needles cast on 48 sts and work in ribbing of K 2,  P 2 for 2 inches. Change to large needles and work 6 rows even. * Next row  increase one st at each end. Work 5 rows even. Repeat from * until 12 increases  have been made. Work even until sleeve measures 10 inches or is length desired  at underarm. 
  Next 2 Rows–Bind off 4 sts at  the beginning of each row then bind off 3 sts at the beginning of each row  until 22 sts remain, bind off. 
  Sew seams and sew  sleeves in position.
BOY'S PANTS 2017
3-4 Years
Materials Required–AMERICAN THREAD  COMPANY 
  "DAWN"  SHETLAND TYPE FLOSS OR "DAWN" WOOL FLOSS 
  3 1-oz. Balls Blue  or any Color desired. 
1 Pr. Bone Knitting  Needles No. 2 and 1 Pr. No. 1. 
Gauge–15 sts = 2 inches. 10 rows = 1 inch.
Cast on 86 sts and  work 7 rows in stockinette st ending with K row. K the next row, this makes a  ridge on the right side of the hem. Continue in stockinette st. Work 6 rows  even. Next row increase 1 st each end then increase every 4th row until there  are 4 increases on each side then increase every other row 4 times. (102 sts.)  Work 3 rows even. 
  Next Row–Decrease 1 st each  side then decrease 1 st each side every other row 8 times. (84 sts.) 
  * Work 9 rows even.  Next row on right side, K 1 K 2 together (front edge), K to end of row (back  edge). Repeat from * 3 times. Continue even until work measures 11 inches from  the beginning ending with a K row. Next row start shaping back. P 50, turn,  slip the first st, K back to end of row. Next row P 42, turn, sl st the first  st, K to end of row. 
  Continue, purling 8  sts less every purl row until in the last row there are 8 sts worked. Next row  (wrong side), purl across row. 
  Change to No. 1  needles and work in ribbing of K 2, P 2 for 2 inches. Bind off, knitting the  knitted sts and purling the purl sts. Work other half to correspond taking  care to have the decreases for front at opposite end. Sew leg seams. Baste the  2 sections together with seams meeting at crotch and sew seams. Turn in hems on  ridge and sew. Tack an elastic about 1 inch wide on inside of ribbing. 
BOY'S TAM 2017
Materials Required–AMERICAN THREAD  COMPANY 
  "DAWN"  SHETLAND TYPE FLOSS OR "DAWN" WOOL FLOSS 
  2 1-oz. Balls Blue. 
5 Double Pointed  Knitting Needles No. 2. 
On 4 needles cast  on 80 sts (20 on each needle) and work in ribbing of K 2, P 2 for 1 inch. The  remainder of hat is worked in stockinette st. (K each row.) 
  Next Row–Work 2 sts in each  st and work 3 inches even. 
  Next Row–Decrease to 153  sts spacing decreases evenly. 
  Next Row–Start shaping top  of Tam. K 15, K 2 together, repeat from * all around. Work 1 row even. 
  Next Row–K 14, K 2  together, repeat from * all around. Work 1 row even. Continue decreasing every  other row having 1 less st between decreasing points until there is only one st  between decreasing points. Work 1 row even, then K 2 together all around, break  yarn leaving an end. Slip the remaining sts on a needle and fasten securely.  Finish top with a small pompom.
