Materials Required–AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY
"DAWN" KNITTING WORSTED OR "DAWN" KNITTING WOOL
7 1¼-oz. Skeins White or Colors.
1 Pr. Bone Knitting Needles No. 3.
3 small buttons.

Measurements–Length for shoulder 16 inches.
Width around underarm 24 inches.
Length of sleeve at underarm 8½ inches.

Gauge–6 sts = 1 inch.

LEFT FRONT. Cast on 52 sts and work in garter st (K each row) for 1½ inches. Continue in stockinette st working the 10 sts at front edge in garter st for border. Work even for 1½ inches.
Next Row–Decrease 3 sts spacing the decreases evenly inside the border then decrease 3 sts every 2 inches until 40 sts remain and work even until front measures 12½ inches from the beginning.
Next Row–Bind off 3 sts for armhole then decrease 1 st every other row 4 times and work 5 rows even. Next row on wrong side start yoke pattern, keeping the garter st border (K 3, P 1, K 1, P 1). 2nd Row–K across row. Repeat these 2 rows for pattern. Work 8 rows even. Next Row–Bind off 10 sts at neck edge then decrease 1 st at neck edge every other row until 18 sts remain, work 2 rows even. Bind off 9 sts at armhole edge every other row.
RIGHT FRONT. Work same as left front until work measures 10 inches. Next Row–Work buttonhole. K to the last 10 sts, K 4, yarn over, K 2 together K 4. Continue work making 2 more buttonholes spacing them evenly.
BACK. Cast on 87 sts, work border same as fronts and work even for 1½ inches. Next Row–Decrease 4 sts evenly spaced then decrease 4 sts every 2 inches until 67 sts remain. Work even until back measures 12½ inches from the beginning.
Next 2 Rows–Bind off 3 sts at the beginning of each row then decrease 1 st each side every other row until 53 sts remain. Continue even working yoke pattern to correspond to fronts until armhole measures same as on fronts.
Bind off 9 sts at the beginning of next 4 rows and bind off remaining sts for back of neck.
SLEEVES. Cast on 20 sts and work in stockinette st. Cast on 2 sts at the end of each row until there are 46 sts on needle then decrease 1 st at each end every 7th row until 34 sts remain. Work even until sleeve measures 8 inches from the beginning. Next Row–Decrease after every 6th st and work 10 rows even. Finish sleeve with 8 rows of garter st.
COLLAR. Cast on 80 sts, K the 1st and last 4 sts in each of the next 16 rows and work the remaining sts in stockinette st, then K all sts in the next 8 rows, bind off and sew to coat.
