Jack Frost Fingering Fleece
Green—5 1-oz. Balls; Red—1 1-oz. Ball; Corn—1 1-oz. Ball

BACK: With No. 2 Needles and Green cast on 99 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 3½ in. Change to No. 3 Needles and P 1 row increasing to 126 sts. Work in striped pattern as follows: * 4 rows Corn, 27 rows Green, 2 rows Red, 27 rows Green; re­peat from * until piece measures 10½ in. from lower edge. In­crease 1 st at each end every other row 5 times. Work even until piece measures 7 in. from last increase at underarm. Bind off 14 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows, then 9 sts at beginning of each of next 8 rows. Change to No. 2 Needles and work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 8 rows. Bind off.

FRONT: Work as given for back until piece measures 5 in. from last increase at underarm. Work over 55 sts; place on st-holder. Bind off next 26 sts for front of neck. On remaining 55 sts, work 2 rows even; decrease 1 st at neck edge every other row 5 times. Work even until piece measures 7 in. from last increase at under­arm. Starting at shoulder edge, bind off 14 sts once, then 9 sts every other row 4 times. Work other side to correspond.

FRONT NECKBAND: With No. 2 Needles on right side of gar­ment, pick up 79 sts from end to end of neckband. Work in rib­bing of K 1, P 1, for 8 rows. Bind off. Sew shoulder and under­arm seams. With No. 2 steel crochet hook and Natural, work 1 row of s c around edge of armhole. Fasten off.
