Green2 2-oz. Balls

BACK: With No. 2 Needles cast on 99 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 3 in. Change to No. 4 Needles increasing to 115 sts. Work in stockinette st until piece measures 10 in. from lower edge. Bind off 8 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for un­derarm; decrease 1 st at each end every other row 8 times. Work even until piece measures 8 in. from underarm. Bind off 7 sts at beginning of each of next 6 rows for shoulders. Change to No. 2 Needles and work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 7 rows. Bind off.

FRONT: Work as given for back, following the chart, being sure to twist yarns when changing colors, until piece measures 10 in. from lower edge. Continuing pattern, bind off 8 sts at beginning of next row, work over next 49 sts, place on st-holder. On remain­ing 58 sts, K 2 tog, work across row. Bind off 8 sts at beginning of next row, P across remaining 49 sts. Decrease 1 st at neck edge on the next row and every 4th row thereafter until 17 de­creases have been made at neck edge, at the same time, decrease at underarm edge as given for back. When piece measures 8 in. from underarm, starting at shoulder edge, bind off 7 sts every other row 3 times. Work other side to correspond.

FRONT NECKBAND: With No. 2 Needles on right side of gar­ment, pick up 67 sts from shoulder to point of V, 1 st at point of V, 67 sts from point of V to right shoulder. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, decreasing 1 st at each side of st at point of V on every row. Bind off. Sew shoulder seams.

ARMHOLE BANDS: With No. 2 Needles on right side of gar­ment, pick up 139 sts from end to end of armhole. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 4 rows. Bind off. Sew underarm seams.
