Size 38 - 40

MATERIAL:
7 balls Sportyarn (2 oz. ball)
1 pair knitting needles each No. 2 and No. 4
1 set sock needles No. 2

GAUGE: 7 sts. = 1 inch

PATTERN:
1st row: * work 13 sts. in seed st., P2, K8, P2, repeat from *across row. end 13 sts. seed st.
2nd row: * 13 sts. seed st., K2, P8, K2, repeat from * across row, end 13 sts. seed st.
Repeat these 2 rows 3 times more.
9th row: * 13 sts. seed st., P2, slip next 4 sts. to an extra needle and hold in front of work, K next 4 sts., K the 4 sts. off the extra needle (a cable made), P2, repeat from * across row, end 13 sts. seed st.
10th row: Like 2nd row.
Continue to work this way cabling the K 8 sts. every 10th row on right side.

BACK: Cast on 128 sts. with No. 2 needles and work in rib­bing K1, P1 for 3 inch., increasing 10 sts. at even inter­vals across last row of ribbing. Change to No. 4 needles and pattern. With 138 sts. work even until the entire piece measures 14½ inch, or any desired length to under­arm. Bind off for armhole at the beg. of the next 2 rows 8 sts., at the beg. of the next 4 rows 2 sts., decr. 1 st. at each end of every other row until 110 sts. are left. Work even for 8½ inch, from the first binding off. Bind off for shoulders at the beg. of the next 6 rows 11 sts., rem. 44 sts. bind off for neck.

FRONT: Work front as back until armhole is bound off. Work in pattern over 55 sts. and slip them to a holder. Work over rem. 55 sts. only and deer. 1 st. at center edge every other row until 33 sts. are left over. Work as high as back, and bind off for shoulder at armhole edge 11 sts. 3 times. Fasten off. Connect yarn to other side of V-neck and finish this side to correspond.

SLEEVE: Cast on 56 sts. with No. 2 needles and work in rib­bing K1, P1 for 2½ inch., increasing 7 sts. at even inter­vals across last row of ribbing. Change to No. 4 needles and pattern. Incr. 1 st. at the beg. and at the end of every 6th row until 105 sts. are on needle. Work even until the entire sleeve measures 19½ inch, or any desired length to underarm. Bind off at the beg. of the next 2 rows 5 sts. Decr. 1 st. at the beg. of each row until 83 sts. are left. Decr. 1 st. at the beg. and end of every 4th row until 69 sts. are on needle. Bind off 2 sts. at the beg. of each row until 37 sts. are left over. Bind off. Make the other sleeve to correspond.

FINISHING: Sew up side, shoulder and sleeve seams and sew in sleeves. Right side facing you, pick up around the neck with No. 2 sock needles 149 sts. and work in ribbing K1, P1 for 8 rows, decr. 1 st. before and after the center st. at V-neck every other row. Bind off loosely K as K and P as P. Steam lightly.
