Width of back at underarm 10 ½ in 11 ½ in 12 ½ in
Length from lower edge to back of neck (not including neck ribbing) 11 ½ in 13 in 14 ½ in
Sleeves—Width at underarm 8 in 8 ½ in 9 in
Gauge: 29 sts = 4 inches

21 rows = 2 inches

Back—With size 1 needles, cast on

 77 sts 85 sts 93 sts
Ribbing-First row—P 1, * k 1, p 1; repeat from * to end.

2nd row—K 1, * p 1, k 1; repeat from * to end. Repeat these 2 rows for 1 ½ in., end with 2nd row. Change to size 3 needles.

Pattern—First row (wrong side)—K 1, * p 2, k 2; repeat from * to end.

2nd row—P 1, * k 2, p 2; repeat from * to end.
Repeat these 2 rows until measurement above ribbing is 5 in 6 ¼ in 7 ½ in
or desired length to underarm.

Armholes—Bind off at beginning of next 2 rows for underarm

Dec. 1 st each side every 2nd row, with care to keep pattern 3 times 4 times 5 times

Repeating buttonhole every (end on wrong side) 2 in 1 ¾ in 2 in
Shoulders—Bind off 4 sts at beginning of next 6 rows.

Neck Ribbing—With size 1 needles, work p 1, k 1 ribbing for ¾ ins. on 31 sts 35 sts 35 sts
Bind off loosely in ribbing.

Front—Work same as back until measurement above underarm is (end on right side)

Neck and Shoulder Shaping—Next row— 25 sts 25 sts 27 sts
Work and slip on holder for right side

Work and slip on holder for neck, next

Work to end. Working on sts of left side, dec. 1 st at neck edge every 5 rows; every 2nd row 3 times; shaping shoulder as on back when armhole is same length as back armhole.

Take up sts of right side, beginning at neck edge finish to correspond to left side.

Neck Ribbing—With size 1 needles, pick up and k 20 sts on left side neck edge, work pattern across front neck sts, pick up and k 20 sts on right neck edge.
Work k 1, p 1 ribbing for ¾ in. on 55 sts 59 sts 59 sts
Bind off loosely in ribbing.

Sleeves—With size 1 needles, cast on

 41 sts 45 sts 49 sts
Work ribbing as on back for 1 ½ in., end with 2nd row. With size 3 needles, work pattern, increasing 1 st each side every ¾ in 1 in 1 in
8 times. Work even on 57 sts 61 sts 65 sts
Until measurement above ribbing is 7 ¼ in 9 ¼ in 10 ½ in
Or desired length to underarm. Shape same as armholes of back. Bind off 2 sts at beginning of next 12 rows. Bind off 21 sts.

Finishing—Sew seams, sewing edges of neck ribbing together. Sew in sleeves with seam at center underarm. Steam.
