SCALE: 7 sts to 1 in.

Jack Frost Featherweight Floss 2 Fold—10 1-oz. Balls

BACK: With No. 3 Needles cast on 120 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 2½ in., then work in pattern as follows:
Row 1—* K 8, P 4; repeat from * across row.
Row 2—K 3, * P 8, K 4; repeat from * across row ending last repeat K 1.
Row 3—P 2, * K 8, P 4; repeat from * across row ending last repeat P 2.
Row 4—K 1, * P 8, K 4; repeat from * across row ending last repeat K 3.
Row 5—Repeat row 3.
Row 6—Repeat row 2.
The above 6 rows form pattern. Repeat them until piece meas­ures 15½ in. from lower edge. Bind off 6 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm; decrease 1 st at each end every other row 6 times. Work even until piece measures 6½ in. from underarm. Bind off 8 sts at beginning of each of next 8 rows for shoulders. Bind off remaining sts for back of neck.

RIGHT FRONT: With No. 3 Needles cast on 69 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 1¾ in., then work first buttonhole as follows: K 1, P 1, over the first 3 sts, bind off next 2 sts, P 1, K 1, across row. Work back, casting on 2 sts over the bound off sts. Repeat buttonholes every 2¾ in. to neck edge working last buttonhole on 2nd row of neckband. When rib­bing measures 2½ in. from lower edge, work as follows (right side): K 1, P 1, over the first 9 sts; work in pattern as on back over the remaining 60 sts. Keeping the first 9 sts worked in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for buttonhole band and remaining sts in pattern, work even until piece measures 15½ in. from lower edge. Keeping front edge even, bind off 6 sts at under­arm edge once; decrease 1 st at underarm edge every other row 6 times. Work even until piece measures 5½ in. from underarm. Keeping armhole edge even, work over first 9 sts; place on st-holder. Bind off next 8 sts, work across row. Bind off 2 sts at neck edge every other row 4 times. Work even until piece measures 6½ in. from underarm. Starting at shoulder edge, bind off 8 sts every other row 4 times.

LEFT FRONT: Work to correspond to right, front omitting buttonholes and binding off for underarm on right side instead of wrong side.

Sew shoulder and underarm seams.

NECKBAND: With No. 2 Needles on right side of garment, pick up 91 sts from end to end of neckband, including sts which were placed on st-holder. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 8 rows. Bind off.

SLEEVES: With No. 2 Needles cast on 51 sts. Work in ribbing of K 1, P 1, for 3½ in. Change to No. 3 Needles and P 1 row increasing to 60 sts at even intervals across row. Work in pattern as given for back for 6 rows, then continuing pat­tern, increase 1 st at each end on the next and every 8th row thereafter to 84 sts. Work even until piece measures 18 in. from lower edge. Bind off 6 sts at beginning of each of next 2 rows for underarm; decrease 1 st at each end every other row 6 times, then every 4th row 3 times. Bind off 2 sts at beginning of every row until 22 sts remain. Bind off remain­ing sts.

Sew sleeve seams. Sew sleeves in place.
