Right Back—Cast on 42 sts. Work even in pattern for 3 inches and increase 1 st. at underarm side. Then increase 1 st. at underarm side every ½ inch 9 more times. When work measures 8 inches from start, bind off 6 sts. at underarm once, then decrease 1 st. every other row 8 times. When work measures 7 inches straight up from the bound off sts. at underarm, bind off 5 sts. from armhole edge every other row 5 times. Bind off remaining 13 sts.

Left Back—Work to correspond to Right Back.

Right Front—Cast on 42 sts. Work even in pattern for 2 inches and increase 1 st. at underarm side. Then increase 1 st. at underarm side every ½ inch 11 more times. When work measures 8 inches from start, bind off 6 sts. at underarm side once, then decrease 1 st. at underarm side every other row 10 times. When work measures 6 inches straight up from the bound off sts. at underarm, bind off 6 sts. from center edge once, then decrease 1 st. every row at center edge 4 times, then 1 st. every other row at center edge 3 times. At the same time, when work measures 7 inches straight up from the bound off sts. at underarm, bind off 5 sts. from armhole edge every other row 5 times. All sts. have been worked off.

Sleeves—Cast on 42 sts. Working in pattern, increase 1 st. each side every inch 11 times, then every ½ inch 10 times. When work measures 17 inches from start, bind off 6 sts. at the beginning of each of the next 2 rows. Then decrease 1 st. each side every 4th row 9 times, then every other row 12 times, then every row 6 times. Bind off remaining 18 sts.

With a double strand of Shetland Floss, crochet the 2 pieces of the back together with 1 row S. C., working through the knots directly under the sts. of the rows of Modeen.

Sew shoulder seams, sew sleeves in place, putting fullness at top of sleeve. Sew underarm and sleeve seams.
