Back—With Green cast on 104 sts. and work in ribbing (K. 1, P. 1) for ¾ inch. Change to Scar­let and work even in ribbing for ¾ inch. Change to White and work first 18 sts. in Double Moss St. (K. 1, P. 1 on an even number of sts. for 2 rows, then P. 1, K. 1, for 2 rows), work next 19 sts. in Stockinette St. Work next 30 sts. in Double Moss St., work next 19 sts. in Stockinette St., work last 18 sts. in Double Moss St.

Continue in this manner up the entire back, working all sts. in Double Moss St. except the 2 bands of 19 sts. each. When work measures 2 inches from start, increase 1 st. each side. Increase 1 st. each side every inch 7 more times, work 1 inch even. When work measures 10 inches from start, bind off 7 sts. each side once then decrease 1 st. each side every other row 9 times for armhole.

When work measures 5½ inches straight up from the bound off sts. at underarm, work over 30 sts. and place on stitch-holder, bind off 28 sts. Work­ing on the last 30 sts., bind off 3 sts. at inside edge every other row 3 times, then decrease 1 st. at inside edge every row 9 times.

At the same time, when work measures 7 inches straight up from the bound off sts. at underarm, bind off 6 sts. from armhole edge every other row 2 times.

Pick up the 30 sts. from stitch holder and work in same manner.

Right Front—With Green cast on 60 sts. and work ribbing same as back, working a buttonhole when work measures ½ inch by: work 3 sts., bind off 4 sts., work across row. Next row cast on 3 sts. over the bound off sts. Work a button­hole in this manner every 2 inches 6 more times.

When work measures 1½ inches, join White and working from front edge, work 22 sts. in Double Moss St., work next 19 sts. in Stockinette St., and work last 19 sts. in Double Moss St.

When work measures 2 inches from start, in­crease 1 st, at underarm side. Increase 1 st. at this side every inch 7 more times. When work meas­ures 11 inches from start, bind off 7 sts. at under­arm side once, then decrease 1 st. at underarm side every other row 12 times.

When work measures 3 inches straight up from the bound off sts. at underarm, bind off 15 sts. at front edge once. Decrease 1 st. at neck edge every row 17 times, then decrease 1 st. at neck edge every 4th row 5 times. When work measures 7 inches straight up from the bound off sts. at underarm, bind off 6 sts. at armhole edge 2 times.

Left Front—Work to correspond to Right Front omitting buttonholes.

Sleeve—With Green cast on 46 sts. Working in ribbing (K. 1, P. 1) for 4½ inches, work 1 inch Green, 1 inch Scarlet, then 2½ inches White.

Next row start working 14 sts. in Double Moss St., 18 sts. in Stockinette St., last 14 sts. in Double Moss St. Work the center 18 sts. in Stockinette St. for entire sleeve.

When work measures 5 inches from start, in­crease 1 st. each side, then increase 1 st. each side every inch 3 more times, then every ½ inch 18 times.

When work measures 18 inches from start, bind off 7 sts. at the beginning of each of the next 2 rows, then decrease 1 st. each side every other row 15 times, then 1 st. each side every row 15 times. Bind off remaining 16 sts.

Sew shoulder seams, sew sleeves in place, sew un­derarm and sleeve seams.

With Scarlet pick up 174 sts. around neck and work in ribbing (K. 1, P. 1) for ¼ inch, then work a buttonhole. Work 1 inch more. Change to Green and work for l¼ inches. Bind off loosely in ribbing.

With Scarlet crochet edging on fronts of jacket as follows: * Ch. 4, skip 4, work 1 S. C. in next st., repeat from * up the entire front edges. With Green work in same manner, working the S. C. through the Ch. 4 of previous row.

Take two strands of Green and twist them tightly. Fold in half and twist again. Thread through yoke on line between the two colors. Make pom­pons for each end.

Work a similar cord for waistband.
